:super:Found out today why I haven't been having great results with my ETrac

It needs to go to the shop. Buried some coins at 6-10 inches, then I ran my ETrac over them and most gave no signal regardless of what settings and I tried a SR5, excal6, excal4.5x7, pro11,sef 10x12,ex 10x14 and she couldn't pick up any of them . The closest I came was a 6 inch zinc that...

For those considering the ETrac upgrade from a previous Explorer

re still there, where by ear, you can know for sure that you are digging a definite coin, both Indians hit at 8-39 and 8-40 and all though I didn't know that coins would com12 modern pennies, 3 clad quarters, 2 clad dimes, green matchbox car, 4 wheats, 2 Indians 1889, 1898 and the flipping...

For those of you that still think all metal is not important on the new ETrac: check out this video

Wait till you put your new ETrac in really thick iron and it nulls completely out for 30 seconds or so. Just like every Explorer ever made...the less discrimination, the better. All those bells, whistles and programs people are bragging about only work in a perpendicular, left to right...

Here is a copy of the post I psoted to MLO, see if you guys agree

"Etrac, tone hunting in all metal, how to.." "First off, I would like to say, home run on the ETrac. In the few days I have had it, it has truly impressed me in many ways. It ignores all the hot rocks and coal slag that I collected with my previous SE. True "see through technology", bravo Mine...

The different numbers with coins on edge.....

Almost seems as this ETrac is sensitive to mass, like it has been designed to "expect" certain ferr/cond readings to be a certain signal width and if it's different and falls in coin range it gives a 1-49/ 1-50 ID on some larger coins. From that, one would assume you could predict a coins...

Swung my new E-12 track yesterday

First off the Sun Ray probe works just fine, almost too fine. It's real stable and quiet to the point I had to touch it to metal to realize it was even working. For a second I thought it was not working, I mean quiet and stable, much more than on the SE. As for the ETrac itself, well, At this...

Most important concern with the ferrous coin readings at 12 only

Realizing the recovery speed on the previous Explorers was paint dry slow, and so was the smartfind display, many of us tried hunting in Conduct tones, by tone only, checking the screen when we got a nice tone, with nails notched out. BUT every now and again, small iron would sneak in there and...

All coins on the ETrac have a ferrous value of 12??

That can't be right, is it??? If the ferrous values of a dime(03) and of a nickel(11) and of a zinc penny(6) And a quarter(00); varied before on the SE and they increased the 32 ferrous stops on the SE (0-31) to the now 35 stops (1-35) on the ETrac, how is it possible now that the ferrous...

After reading the ETrac manual, I am a little bummed:cry:

The biggest things which I wanted to see change was very most importantly; the recovery speed (jury's still out on that one):please:Oh Mutty Putty UM, Pray with me fellas :help: The next thing was with the SE's, if you were in conduct tones, you had to disc out nails, which lead most of us to...

E-Trac....32bit, 48MHz microprocessor, anyone know what the processor is on the SE????????

That's the REAL question, will this thing work FASTER in trash? The software changes are kind of nice. Will make it much easier for the new user to be more effective, especially setting sensitivity. But I don't see too much of a real help for the guys that knew their Explorers well. The...

Explorer user ...Just bought a used DFX

I'm hoping with all these different tweak options, including an actual manually controlled ground balance that I can squeeze a couple more keepers out of some very worked sites. Most are in corn fields. I have used my Explorer SE's with the largest coils made for them, so I am assuming most of...

Swung the ML Pro 11in a "worked out" site:

BUY ONE NOW!!!!!!! Makes my SE feel as light as my F-75:thumbup: AND it gets much better separation than the stock coil and some coils smaller than it!. It almost feels like the processor on my SE is quicker, which is impossible, but because of the quick separation and the sharpness of how it...

    I am a traitor

I just bought a used DFX, oh boy can a guy tweak this thing and then some. I can see where a person with that much adjustment power could benefit from all that freedom or adjust the whole thing out of whack and think it were worthless. My plan is to become as proficient with the DFX as I am...

    Question for Eric on PI's.....

Is your new White's PI going to have the ability to Tone ID at depth and/or be able to discriminate out iron and be used for coin shooting deeper than existing VLF's? I bought a Pulse Star 2 with that claim which fell a little short of expectations:rofl:. I have several old fair grounds...
