big coil for gpx 4500 and battery

I don't know much about that machine. I've heard it doesn't discriminate iron. That would be bad. I have a TDI & doesn't discriminate iron very well. It collects dust now. The Minelab GP series are incredible.

    Round ball kind of day.

Yes lots of them. They're for the .69" smoothbore. I've found the .69, .58 & .54 cal bullets at this spot in a relatively small area.

    Lead and large cent

I went back to a old spot that's produced some pretty cool stuff over the years the other day. It was not really huntable but managed to find a couple keepers.

    Round ball kind of day.

I went relic hunting this afternoon again & got into some round balls. Everything I'm posting is Gettysburg campaign.

Barrel band, bayonet finial & fuse.

There must've been a house or shack at this spot. Lots of iron. Early inhabitants through now. I mean infested with iron & a electric fence. I'd love to get the farmer to shut his fence off for a little bit. Some of them will & that really helps. I'd love to be able to run my gpx in that spot.

Barrel band, bayonet finial & fuse.

I checked out a new spot & got into some relics. Some are really old & some are civil war. The barrel band is a first.
  10. Digger70pa

    Check this stuff out.

Some of this is old. Some is civil war I think. Some I have no idea.

    The weather finally cooperated

Hey buddy. The top 12 are Confederate Gardner type. The shorter 3 ringer is something different. It has a applied nose. The next one is a typical union made 3 ringer. Next to it is a shot 3ringer. Then a pistol bullet. The shot bullet came from a couple hundred yards away at a different...

    The weather finally cooperated

Well I've had off since last Friday & the weather has been terrible. It finally broke & got warm enough to dig. So I tried a different spot. I couldnt get on the one I wanted to. I went to another spot & everything worked out lol.

Time to get the lead out

Cool finds. All are modern bullets for muzzle loaders. I've found them in my adventures. You found a target range.

Time to get the lead out

Most are Lyman mold for muzzle loaders. From seeing & recovering many civil war bullets those are new. The one bullet on the right is a modern Lyman mold for muzzle loaders. They're made for civil war guns. The others are civil war bullets I've dug. Someone was doing some target shooting where...
