Tesoro Outlaw and Every Day Finds

Just wanted to post a few finds that I got yesterday with my Outlaw. No silver, no gold, no ancient coins. Just everyday finds we all come across. Why am I posting these? Because when I was out yesterday I was thinking about how wonderful this hobby is, and how much I enjoy being part of a...

    MXT or MXT Pro

A question for those who have used both or if you have some information to submit on either. I already own an MXT and find it to be one of, if not the best, VDI detectors I've ever owned, and I've owned all the top brands, top dollar detectors. So I'm looking to maybe get another MXT or the...

    Outlaw Discrimination is so impressive!

So I was out with my Outlaw this evening and thought, light heartily, so if the disc on the Outlaw can separate a dime from a quarter, how about a copper penny from a dime? Laughing to myself I placed a dime and a copper penny down, passed the coil over both coins and by God it did it! I was...

    Outlaw - Vaquero shoot out!

So when I got the Outlaw I thought, if it's even nearly as good as my Vaquero, it's going to be an excellent detector. I've been evaluating my Outlaw now for about a week and thought I'd take a couple hours and compare the depth of my Outlaw to my Vaquero. Although these tests are controlled...

    Vaquero Finds Silver and Diamonds!

Took my "V" out for a hunt today. I went to the north end of a local park where there are several playground areas, not really sure you'd call them tot-lots. After recovering 7 - 8 coins, all clad, I got a solid hit. Down about 3" in the mulch came out this little ring with a Star of David on...

    To all X-TERRA users

Not sure if this was discussed yet but, tonight on NGC, National Geographic Channel, there's a new show called "Diggers". Looks like a show involving metal detecting. Just saw the preview and thought I'd get the word out. 10pm

First Hunt With My 705, short but . . .

So after 2 weeks, I had a chance to finally get out with my 705. The weather and my job schedule have not been cooperating. I only had an hour and a half so I went to a park which always produces it share of coins. If I had to describe this detector in a word it just might be

Minelab 9" 3 kHz Concentric or the 10.5" DD 7.5 kHz?

So I got my 705 this past week and find it to be an excellent md. I'm shopping for an additional coil for parks, fields, yards, etc. mostly coins and jewelry. I've narrowed it down to the Minelab 9" 3 kHz Concentric or the Minelab 10.5" DD 7.5 kHz. I know the 3kHz will not be good for small...

Is there a stand for the X-Terra series?

I own a 705, great md, but man it's top heavy. I seem to remember seeing a stand of some sort for it. Any feedback on whether or not it's a good accessory or worth getting?

    X-Terra 705 arrived!

Out of the box impressions are, it's easy to set up and has nice feel / balance. The linearity of the disc and sens is excellent and it's stability is very good. Looking forward to some nice weather here in NJ so I can get out and give it a real world review. I also own an MXT and hope to...

    Minelab Xterra 705 - best coil for. . .

Hi guys - so I'm looking at getting an Xterra 705 this Spring but looking for the best coil option. I'm a coin and jewelry hunter primarily, maybe a trip or two to the beach. Is the standard 9" concentric 7.5kHz waterproof coil my best choice? I see you can also get the Xterra 705 Gold Pack...

MXT January Hunt - Man it's cold!

Had to get out today, even though the wind was blowing and it was in the upper 40's, I had a nice 1 hour hunt. Took my MXT in a local park and came away with 24 coins, $1.61, man was it good to do a little MD'ing! These coins were found in an area that was only 20 X 40 feet. Love my MXT!

Vaquero finds, an old Nickel, but . . .

So I was out at my favorite park today and found a nice collection of coins and a 14k gold chain with a ring on it. I also dug what appeared to be a very old nickel, as determined by my Vaquero, very corroded but I figured I'd clean it up and get a better idea what I had. Well after a good...
