Oh man I just dug oldie from the county park

You just never know! I just dug my first 2 center in 3 years, in the same lakeside park that I dug a slq Monday. Wow what a rush , one of those "should I dig it?" I think this one was about 3" deep near an old foundation. In trash. I dug some wheaties too, and clad that gets in the way!

    Big silver(s) yesterday 4/4

Can't teach an old dog new tricks, i have silver on the brain. I went back to a house, walker was on the side. In the same day, I dug my first SLQ with a date, (it took 4). The quarter was a county park find, on the lake, beautiful scenery. I've been out a few times in March, too. Happy...

Happy-happy New year's day, went digging!

Crazy weather in SW Michigan, from frozen snow-covered, to 50 degree spring-like overnite! Rained the last 24 hrs and this morning I got out and my favorite spot was flooded. So I detected a ballfield and eyeballed a couple keepers, and dug a few, including a 1909 wheat. Not much in the way of...

As the snow falls, I'm hanging it up-my best hunts of 2010

My second season with the Explorer was a blast! I love this thing I call dirtfishin, so much that I developed a pretty good case of pinched leg nerve and rotator cuff issues. But hey, that's not gonna keep me down...as an old fart of 48 years, I will be back out next spring (barring any thaws...

Cold, cold Michigan hunt, 7 silvers!

I braved the 25 degree weather today for 4 hours, I refuse to put the machine up in the winter. Back to a place thats loaded with junk and iron, sometimes coins here don't fare too well, as you can see iron damage to the walker. She was masked by a peice of metal at about 4", but a solid hit...

    Amazing Explorer locates deep silver

Hi all, hunted a ballfield close to home that the city plowed up. 2 months ago when they disc'd it, soil was loose and signals erratic. Gave no more keepers. Went back this week and first hit with the ex II was a nice Barber at, I swear, 12". Buffalo and merc about 4" deep. amc

October trashy park oldies - Explorer II

Bone dry diggin here in S Mich, a couple pics of older finds I managed in trashy, trashy park areas throughout the last month, in a couple different times out. It's now become a challenge to pick thru the foil and wine caps, the Explorer ll is well up to the task. What a blast! Hope everyone...

Dug low tones, my first shield 5c !!

Hunted a cilvil-war era bed and breakfast brick home Monday in SE Michigan, my 3rd or 4th time back here. I managed 3 1800's indians previously, and this time out dug the low tones. The 1870 shield nickel was 3", i saw the indent in the plug first and figured newer nickel. Not too many new coins...

Got a BIG haircut at a new ballfield

I hunted a 25' x 50' spot in a large sports field, everything looks newer, thought I'd try for a gold ring. I ended up reverting back to my old habit of hunting the "squeaks". Really, really trashy here and lots of iron. I dug a Franklin half out of this spot last week and thought I'd give it...

TWO big Franklins in a week!!!

What are the chances? Last Sunday I dug one at an old fairgrounds, today I got my second one at a '50's ballfield, using the Exp2. It hit like a shallow silver dime, and I didn't expect that big silver rim! Lo and behold, a merc was in the hole on top of the half. Hope everyone's getting...

Just wanted one little silver, HOLY COW!

Dug this today, my second silver dollar in a year's time. The first was an 1889 Morgan. This dollar was 2" deep, thought it was can slaw at first. Cursor pegged to the upper right and down a bit, boy I'm glad I didn't stab her, even tho she's holed. Made my day! amc

    weekend Michigan group hunt

Two friends of mine here in S Michigan hosted a weekend 2-day group hunt, I've gotta say it was the greatest thing I've done it awhile! These two guys scouted old yards and state land for weeks for permission to hunt the sites. Lots of old coins found, one guy dug an 1818 LC in an old cellar...

just when you think there's nothing left, SEF!

Wow! Amazing-I have pulverized this old ballfield, digging at least 25 old silvers, indians, and even a 130 y.o. silver pocket spill. Today I went back in and Maxed sens and gain on the Exp II, and dug the Barber and buffalo at 10". I don't dig many nickels, this is my second buffalo from this...

    Short hunt early barber dime

Hunted an old farm today, site goes back to civil war time with lots of indian history. I spent more time talking to the two old brothers then actuall hunting, they showed me about a dozen arrowheads they had found on the property over the years. Worthwhile hunt, dug the first-year Barber dime...

110 yr old dime, I "found" it.

Wish I could say that I dug this with the explorer, but I found it today just the same, in a roll of dimes. amc
