Good day at the Ky. camp...

Not as many bullets as I dug on Saturday but I like these! 2 carved bullets(a pistol bullet has a leaf carving), a French 69 Caliber triangle base, a few more bullets, 2 Spencer casings and an 1858 holed half dime. HH Neal

    What is it?

It's the size of a man's ring. Found it at a Ky. Civil War camp site yesterday. Any ideas? HH Neal

    Kentucky camp finds...

One Enfield, maybe a fired Gardner and the pistol bullet on the bottom center was carved to an uneven point. HH Neal

    Kentucky camp finds...

I got to hunt a Civil War camp down in Ky. yesterday. Not too far from home but enough of a drive that I stayed way past dark knowing it may be awhile before I can hit it again. The little pistol bullet at the bottom has been carved to an uneven point. HH Neal

Good find from an old inn...

From what I read, this is a militia eagle pin from before the Civil War. Just a little over 1/2" tall.

Not through with this old park yet....

This old park has been hammered but I've always been able to get something out of it. Today it gave up this worn seated dime. Made my day. It's only my second seated this year so it was good to see! HH Neal

Took the old XS to a park across the river...

The first good find after 30 or 40 minutes was an 1857 Large Cent. Wow! I don't get many large cents in parks myself, that was a surprise, especially since it was only down a couple inches and any old detector should have picked that one out. After a few wheats and a big old skeleton key I hit...

Been picking around at a city lot...

Old buttons, 2 indians, 2 buffs, wheats galore. Then Wednesday I finally hit silver. 1883 Seated dime. I love it when that happens! She's worn but it's my first seated for the year and it really made my day. HH Neal

Could Adam really have lived that long?

Genesis 5:5 "And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died." In Genesis chapter 5 we read that Adam lived to be 930 years old. One question often asked is, "Could Adam really have lived that long?" Most of the effects of aging are due to genetic mistakes that...

G2 sniffs out some more from a pounded ghost town!

It was muddy but fun hunting in a plowed field with BFCB yesterday. I love hunting where the indians are old! Got some good dates this time! Also a couple of flower buttons, some kind of brass stopper I think, a mangled key, toe tap, thimble and a tiny piece of turquoise in a ring setting. HH Neal

    Lisa is in Heaven now...

My beautiful, sweet wife Lisa went to Heaven yesterday at 10:25 a.m. She has suffered the last couple of months with intense nausea and I'm so glad she's not suffering anymore. Her memorial service will be on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Sligo Baptist Church, Sligo, KY. Instead of sending...

    Update on Lisa's MRI etc.

Lisa is still in the hospital dealing with nausea and fast build up of fluids. She's getting a permanent catheter put in her abdomen so she can drain the fluids herself when necessary. The MRI of her brain yesterday showed no cancer activity in the brain. The cancer is active in her bones again...

Ma Betty simply voiced what she believed and was ridiculed.

Marginalizing others we don't want to hear from has become a polished art anymore. Some people have it down pat. Straight from Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. It's like they passed that book out to everyone 25 years ago when I was on vacation or something and when I came back all that was...
