    Need pipointer advice...

My very inexpensive pinpointer is almost dead. Lasted over 15 years. What's a good inexpensive pinpointer I can replace it with? Nothing fancy needed...

I'm still confused about the Omega GB procedure....

Quite frankly, it seems to be awfully complicated. Cab I GB in Disc mode? Is there, preferably, a pre set GB setting? It's hard to find a clean patch of ground and I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Anyone here set up a coin garden for detector testing? I'm probably going to set up one tomorrow to test my Omega.

The ground around here is nicely saturated but it's too cold to be out there too long. What kind of depth are you getting with the Omega? If I can get a clean signal on a US Quarter and Nickel at 8" in my mild ground I'll be sort of happy.

    Another Omega arrival.

First impression: I like. air tested a US Quarter up to about 12" with sensitivity almost max. I think I'm going to really like this one!

    Damn drizzle.....

It rained today all day. A light-medium drizzle. My Omega should be here tomorrow. Guess I'll have to convert a negative to a positive and take advantage of the wet grounds!

    Ok, here's my dilemma..

For the past 10 years I used a Shadow X5 with good results. As many of you may know, it was a very deep seeking detector with real good target separation. So now I'm looking for something that's at least as good. maybe an Omega 8000 or fisher F70. I'm pulling the trigger on a new detector...

Talk to me about the F5

I don't see many folks using it. How does it compare to the F75, for example? What about depth and target separation? If I like what I hear, I might get one.

    Lucky shot

Was playing around with my new super duper $149.00 Sony camera. I had the shell under a night lamp. The flash didn't fire but it got me a good image. I was trying to show the weird impression made by a glock 19.

Went out with an old friend today....

It was a beautiful day over here in Durham so I decided to finally get out after about a year of not detecting. The 5900 I acquired last week functioned perfectly, just like the one I owned 10 years ago. If the needle would peg on the 'kle' of nickle, it would be a nickle. Found a handful of...
