    C$ averaging...

I've ran the C$ with averaging on, and with averaging off quite a bit. It may just be me, but I haven't really been able to see any difference. Have any of you folks observed a noticeable change when running either way?.. My thoughts would be that it's designed to "stabilize" the ID on...

I have discovered the most useful metal detecting tool!

TIME! I never seem to get time to hunt anymore.... One thing's for sure, if you don't look, you ain't likely to find... Okay, my Friday rant is over, and I feel better :) HH'n Mark in NC

Hey Tony... the C$ can find nickels ...

as a matter of fact I found 11 of 'em in a 6 inch square area at a local school yard. Finally got out a little (first time in way too long). Interesting thing is that the ID stayed glued on 10 and 11 even when they were piled up. I guess it's all about conductivity and not mass... HH'n Mark in NC

Couple of T-2 questions for ya...

First of all, has anyone noticed any depth loss with elevated discrimination? Second, (and I apologize if someones already asked this and I didn't find it) how does it do (being a single frequency) on the wet salt sand? I'm talking depth, stability.. Thanks, Mark in NC

Too quiet in here...question for ya...what are the ID ranges..

you've found most indian head pennies fall into. I say range, cause I know they tend to range in conductivity quite a bit... Thanks, Mark in NC

Merry Christmas all you "Digi-Fish" heads!!

(My new term for digital Fisher users) I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, and Santa stuffs some detectorizing goodies in your stockings (not while you're wearing them though). I hope everyone finds rare bootuns, one-of-a-kind coins and caches galore if you get out huntin' this...

    Coils....

I'm wondering if there's some sort of "evolution" happening with the newer digital Fishers... First, the Coinstrike... , 10.5, "proprietary" frequency. Next, the Excel then the Edge... all slightly different frequencies. Usually, detector companies release "lines or series" of detectors. (like...

    Bill...Thanks for all the contests!...

I know I probably speak for a lot of us out here in "internet land" when I say that's really a nice gesture!(even if I never win anything!) :clapping: HH'n Mark in NC

    Any weekend Edge reports?...

I figure somebody not in the snow areas got in a little Edge swinging over weekend? ... HH'n Mark in NC

You can cut the tension with a knife.... :punch:

Time for us all to sit around a fire and sing "kumbaya". Or smoke a peace pipe, or both. Maybe the new detector releases should be timed for spring so everyone won't be snowed in and gettin' tense. This is a fun Hobby, darn it! I'm just as bad as the next guy to retaliate when someone attacks...

    C$ 'n at the Grandmother-n-laws....

I got to do a little night-time hunting on Thanksgiving at my wife's grandmothers house. The house dates to the teens or 20's so the possiblity of a little silver is always there. I've previously dug a couple of buffaloes and several wheat pennies over the years. I had the 10.5 inch coil on the...

Operation: N.A.N.E (Need A New Edge)

The mission, if you choose to accept it, is challenging. Intelligence reports flowing forth indicate a new technology is available to greatly aid our war on metal. The name of this new technology is... ID Edge. Preliminary investigations indicate this is a deep seeking, accurate metal detector...

My 2 zincs worth on new machines.....

Hi, my name is Mark and I'm a detector-a-holic... (all together) "Hi Mark!"... I've been following the latest info. on the new machines hittin' the market with great interest. Shoot, if I had enough money, I'd own one of each (old and new). I love this hobby, and even enjoy the inevitable...

All those reading this from work...

The very fact you're reading this means you'd rather be detecting instead of workin'! I say we all flex our collective detecting muscles and leave after lunch. What good are we really doing our bosses if we are preoccupied with digging?... In a way, we'd be helping them out if we go do some...

    "Cladiator" C$ experiment :)

"Cladiators", you know who you are! You don't have enough time to go hit a old site, so just to get a quick fix, you head out to the park or school yard for some quick clad vacuuming. I've got something for you to try, just for fun. When you're not expecting super deep old stuff, try cranking...

    Great Fisher response...

Hi ya'll, I emailed Fisher today asking about a couple of items and they replied back in less than 2 hours (and I'm East coast- they're West Coast...and it's morning) I personally consider that great and outstanding service. They are also taking care of my request (which I offered to pay for...

    threshold question...

Howdy all. Has anyone ever found a connection between threshold settings and detecting small stuff? One reason I think a lot of folks feel like the C$ is "noisey) is because that sucker can detect some tiny little stuff. The "noise" (most of the time) is little stuff that goes undetected by a...
