    Program spreadsheet

I thought it might be helpful if I modified the V3 spreadsheet by adding a tab for custom programs created by members of the V community. This info would be part of the V3i speadsheet as well. So, if you have or know of a program that you find useful, send me a PM or post it here (the program...

Is there a down to earth explanation

Are you talking about the menu layout and hierarchy or something else?

A V3i program spreadsheet will be available shortly after I get the upgrade. I'll probably send it in pretty soon. Beep

    Ground filter

White's V3 Spectra Manual - Page 40 Ground filter (choose from 8 different filters, "10.0Hz High") - [b]Filtering ground minerals allows deeper penetration (detection depth) in mineralized grounds. Less ground filtering benefits low ground mineral areas may increase detection depth, however, doesn

    Ground filter

I don't think anyone wants to write a small book (but I could be wrong!), but filter sets the foundation for all your other settings. If your soil and sweep don't match the filter you probably won't find much.

    Beware of Black Sand

Did any of your fellow hunters have a problem? What were they using?

    Beware of Black Sand

Did you reduce your Gain and Sensitivity, or try Frequency Offset, or discriminate out areas most prone to falsing...and did you vigorously ground balance? I haven't hunted in those conditions, so I'm not sure what would work the best. Maybe a smaller DD coil would help. Hopefully others will...

    Gold rings and zinc memorials

I'm sure this is old hat for most of you, but thought I would post it anyway... Target Ground Probe Add Ground Tracking to your favorite program's control bar using Extend (Configuration) When you encounter quality signals in the range of the test targets, Zoom on Ground Tracking, Zero the...

    Gold rings and zinc memorials

Elsewhere there's a discussion going on concerning the discrepancy between the dominant freqs in Pinpoint and Analyze as compared to the Probe Strength values. Pinpoint and Analyze show 7.5KHz dominant. Probe Strength always shows 22.5KHz as the dominant freq. This was the case for all the...

    Gold rings and zinc memorials

FYI - I did some further testing in as close to real world conditions as I could and it looks like it is very difficult to tell the difference, even using Phase. So, I'm going to keep my eye on Phase and get used to the different values, but I am not optimistic.

    Gold rings and zinc memorials

I am not sure why the confidence is higher on the zincs. I'm guessing that the V is ascertaining the target's chances of being a pulltab (the first icon in that range). Or, more likely, it is using the frequency distribution and curves in some way to determine the %. I need to see if I can...

    Gold rings and zinc memorials

This is a recreation of the article at http://www.thebeepgoeson.com/display.asp?page=Gold_Rings_Zincolns. When jewelry hunting I have tried to dig quality signals in the zinc cents range and in the upper pulltab range as well. Zinc cents generally fall in the 50 to 60 range. The upper pulltab...

Whites Super 12" search coil info wanted

I've used it with the V3 in Galveston and it worked very well. Deep, no falsing, excellent pinpoint...I was impressed. Using Salt Compensate, of course. The V3i has some Salt Compensate enhancements (single-freq) I believe.
