    I guess they perform that test at the factory before they ship out the coils? This "null shifting" is a different problem from the D2 problem right?

    I am interested as to why neither V3 or ET sounds off as well. Will be following along until figured out. I am in the market too and these kind of posts alarm me as some of my cheaper/older technology detectors do this with ease quite often. My only guess is improper GB. Good luck!

    I picked up a V3 at the dealer the other day and it felt like it had no batteries in it. But it powered up. I was impressed at how it felt. Picked up the E-Trac right after and it felt a lot heavier. Maybe it was the squishy handle?

    Anyone know of a list of Fisher Detectors from back in the 1980's? I met a guy with an older machine and from his description it sounds like a Fisher. I will have more details soon. All I have now is black, white and gold, and the name Fisher sounded familiar to him. It is missing the battery...
