    Vaquero owners

What settings do you prefer and why? Discriminate, Super tuned discriminate, or All metal. More than likely (when field hunting) I will hunt in regular discriminate mode as I don't need super depth in plowed fields, but I'm curious as to what most folks use in different types of hunting. Thanks

    New Vaquero for me

This will be the second one for me, I'm thinking my first one was a dud as it didn't get much depth. I've also owned a Cibola and loved it. I'm looking forward to using it here in Michigan for field hunting this fall. Hopefully I'll get to post some good stuff!

    Good deal with Percy

Did a trade/cash deal with Percy for my Beach Hunter. The TRX arrived promptly, and in great shape. Thanks Percy and happy water hunting!

    Let's talk relic shovels

Hello all, I hope everyone is having a great season so far. I'm prepping for the fall hunt and am starting to look at relic tools. I had a Sampson 31" t handle but it ended up in a trade for a water detector setup. Great digging tool but a little too short for my 6' frame. I'm looking at the...

    West Michigan water hunters

As much as it kills me to leave a spot where there is a known missing ring, I had to tonight. A fella approached me on the beach about an hour before dark and told me the area he had lost his platinum wedding ring while playing football in the water with his boy. Being that I had my whole family...

    Back into water hunting

Well I did some trading with another forum member and it looks like I'll be a water hunter this summer! Traded my F75 for a Beach Hunter ID 300 with straight and original shaft, T Rex scoop, and accys. I'm curious to see how the Beach Hunter and T Rex does compared to my CZ20 and Stealth scoop!

    Serious question VX3

Another thing that you do not hear much about the Spectra series is their ability in iron. I was using a Vx3/d2 combo at an 1860s farm house last fall. My hunting partner found an iron pit with his Etrac and quickly had to back out due to audio fatigue. I ventured in with the V and pulled out...

    Serious question VX3

I've owned two VX3's and have had every coil Whites offers on them. Personally, I did not find them to be depth monsters, around 7-8" in my soil was the deepest coin found. I honestly think that the V3i would be deeper, but I have yet to own one. The Vx3 does not come with the tx boost option...

    F75SE plus accys for sale

I have a F75SE Black edition for sale. Comes with 11 and 5" coils with extra rod, enviromental covers, Fisher soft shell case, Garrett propointer and sheath, Killer B Wasps headphones, and a Sampson T handle shovel for $875 shipped. This has been a great detector but I'm looking to purchase a...

    pin id

First hunt after having my pesky gall bladder out. Still a little sore but the light f75 makes for easy swinging. Went back over a mid 1800s site that has produced a bit of silver and a couple IH in the past. Was a short hunt that only yielded a couple of teen wheats and this pin. Just...

    PayPal Fraud

Just a heads up to all honest members out there. My PayPal account was hacked tonight for $100. The MD sites are the only time I use PayPal, as it is quick and easy to send cash to folks. I've been using this method of payment for 10 years with no issues and will continue to use them after my...

Have a Whites Classic I for sale with Minelab Koss headphones for $85 shipped conus. This it's a great beginners beep and dig detector that has one knob and is hard wired. I bought it for my kids but they aren't interested, so I'm passing it on to someone who can use it. It's in decent shape...

    Night hunt!

Went out after work and found some cool stuff. A bit of clad, a 8 wheat penny spill (kinda cool) a 1933 Canadian penny, religious pendant dated 1900, and my first nickel with the F75!! (1975..). Oh yeah, also found an 1853 Seated dime and a gold ring.... Dime is with arrows, no mint...

    Oh Canada! :canadaflag:

Found this 1844 Canadian half penny on my lunch break, along with a 43 merc and some pull tabs... I'm in Michigan, but I will take this kind of Canadian currency all day! :bouncy: The race car, shotgun shell, and what I think is part of an old pipe was from a prior short hunt. Settings on the...

    Birthday hunt

Had the day off for the big 40, so I headed out to do some huntin'. Picked up a few relics including an old lock, older horse concho (lead back), a few wheats, my first ever half (42'), and an 1867 IH.... my second oldest after the flying eagle i found a week ago. Funny, the Indian head is...

My Indian turned into an eagle!

Compiling a couple of short hunts along with last nights hunt. My huntin buddy popped up with a barber dime and a 46 Washington, along with a few Wheaties with his Deus. I was eating crow with a few Wheats, and a handful of buttons. As it was getting dark i got a decent signal and popped up what...

    5.3 V rated on the V3i.....................

Having owned both the 4x6 and the 5.3, I would definitely give the depth advantage to the 5.3. I could get 5-6" in my soil also with the 5.3. It was my preferred sniping coil. I didn't like the 6x10 at all, horrible depth and balanced weird. I liked the D2 best unless beach hunting, then the 950...
