    DX-1 Sunray probe

Oh yeah, forgot about that issue some people have. Now I see why you posted on the V forum GS. I havent noticed any performance issues with GB and almost always run in Auto Track mode. I have the Vx3, but I don't think that matters in this case. I'm sure you will enjoy the Sunray.

    DX-1 Sunray probe

I have the dx-1 and really like it. Short list of Pluses/Minuses Plus Utilizes detector battery Can run in disc. mode with detector in case there is iron in the same hole. Hard to lose since it's attached. Excellent depth and a readout on your detector. Minus Weight added onto the detector...

    Lead id"s as silver:help:

Spot on Rob... One of the great features of the V series detectors. The freq. trick alone has saved me from digging a ton of junk!

    VX3 batteries

Personally, I'm saving up for the 2900 battery pack. Being that the VX3 is my go to detector, I burn through alkalines faster than I care to think about. Not to mention my 11 year old boys constantly raiding my detector for X-box controller batteries... I can see Monte's point in his...

    Maybe upgrading to a Vx3

I too used a MXT (s) for a couple of years on and off and definitely think the VX3 is a fine upgrade for those who enjoy a more programable detector. The MXT is a great machine in its own right, but like others have said, it's all in how comfortable you are with your detector. Good luck with...

Small Coil , Which one is the best?

Speaking strictly about White's coils, I have used both the 5.3 and the 4x6 coils for side walk strips and heavy trash and prefer the 5.3.. It seems to go a little deeper and separates very well. Of course my opinion might change if the soil was heavily mineralized or if I were nugget...

Could be once in a lifetime hunt!:detecting::detecting:

If they are steel, then you know the date of every one of them! What a great hunt, that will be hard to top! Thanks again for sharing.

Could be once in a lifetime hunt!:detecting::detecting:

I'm can't remember the key dates off hand, but if you run across a 1909 VDB S, I'm looking for one to finish my Wheatie collection..... I'll give you a buck for it.... :lmfao: Kidding of course. I now some of the earlier wheat dates are worth a little more than the later ones, unless you find a...

Could be once in a lifetime hunt!:detecting::detecting:

Thanks for the pictures, and the story! That is amazing! Have you even looked at the pennies yet for key dates? Personally, I would still be drooling over the silver....

Dusted off the V3i and found 28 cents today

That's sweet, I'd love to find a three center, and any seated lady for that matter!

What were you guys using before you got the new Whites V models??

Primarily White's detectors for me. I have had tried other brands but not for long, have always come back to White's. My progression over the past three years has been Classic ID, MXT, XLT, to the Vx3. Throw a couple Tesoro's, a Minelab, and a couple CZ's in there, albeit briefly. ( I'm not even...

Is the a TTF e-trac like setting for the v-3i

One of the main reasons I would prefer the V3i over my Vx3. Not to be picky.. I don't want the null, but don't want to hear iron either.... I'll keep saving, one penny at a time. It's too bad about the simulator, the fella deserves something for his work. It's a nice setup to help...

    Recent finds with the Vx3

The DX-1 is working great Rob, just as it should. I would have never guessed it was cut down had you not said something. I wonder why they didn't go with a shorter version to start with? As for the D2, I was skeptical at first as I didn't like the 6x10 much, but this coil is very stable and...

    Considering a V3i?

Nice finds Neil! And here I get excited to pull anything older than 1964!

    Recent finds with the Vx3

Nothing too spectacular as it looks like I've turned into a relic hunter as of late.... But the Vx3 is doing awesome. I've recently found a church site that burnt down in the late 30's, but it has a ton of trash on the site. I ran in mixed mode for a while, but the trash drove me...

    V3i Help

Sooo, you're saying you aren't a tech. ? :lmfao: My thoughts exactly yazoo.. Great info. here and very knowledgeable people on this forum, whether they are deemed "techy" or not! The forum search feature is also a very valuable tool for trouble shooting if an answer isn't given right away as...

    V3i Help

West side of the state here... how long have you had the V? Stay with factory programs until you learn it is the best advice I can give... Oh and you might want to be packing heat if detecting in Metro Detroit !
