    Update on Vortex

Great report RL. Results are looking good for you. Yes the weather is finally going into spring, but the next 5-6 days are below temps. What will the next up-date do for the detector ?? Your in the Ashtabula area correct ? Mark ( ohio )

Any Siesta Keys beach hunters here ??

Not sure about that Mike; didn't see any postings about detecting upon entering the area and also passed by a detectorist hunting the wet sand area. Don't know if he is a local or vacationer and didn't stop for a chat to see how his luck was. Mark ( ohio )

Any Siesta Keys beach hunters here ??

Just got back from Sarasota Florida yesterday for a few rounds of golf. My buddy took me down to see the beach that I've always wanted to see. Holy Cow ! Theres probably 150 yrds or more from the concessions walkway till you hit the water. So the O'le adage of hunt the towel line to find...

    New Vortex vx 9

I certainly will give you a holler when I make a trip your direction. I did make a mistake and said fairport when I really meant headlands beach. Any permits necessary for beach hunting there. I was usually there mid-late sept. No one ever batted an eye towards me. Mark ( Ohio )

    New Vortex vx 9

Truth be told, I"ve done better at fairport just because of the shear size of the place, but it take me an additional 30+ minutes to get there . Walnut is a straight shot for me.

continuing thought on lack of beach finds......

Felix... I'm optimistically hopeful the labor day week will show more finds in the sand. The crowds should be still relatively large tho the kids should be back to school by then. The nox 600 will find it if its in the sand. Mark ( ohio )

Bigger crowds probably... but the cost is $$$$$ that time of the yr.. After labor day massive price reduction..

continuing thought on lack of beach finds......

this is more of what it used to be like.... 25 yrs ago when the family started going to OBX, I could/would come home with roughly 25-30 bucks in found change and a gold ring...fast forward to today, ( 2023,2024 ) maybe 6-7 bucks in change total and a junk ring or two. So, as was already...

The New Garrett VORTEX VX9 Just Got A Whole Lot Better!

Leatherneck... you are a positive poster and indeed a big fan of the vx9, so I'll make the assumption you are an owner and operator of the unit. Are you in the states or an overseas user ? I personally am done spending 1000 bucks and more on detectors so the price point on this new garrett...

Where did all the metal detectors go.

Well Mike, heres my spin of the story... Back in 1994 when I started, my wife got me my very first detector as a Christmas present. ( a Whites 4900 d black box unit ). I had a whites dealer about 15 miles from the house so I visited him and made a deal/purchase on a whites silver eagle. This guy...

    More question on the Vortex

Rick. those are all great questions which I hope someone here can give factual answers to. Me personally, I would call garrett directly, voice your concerns and have them put you in touch with someone in tech/development... I did this many times dealing with whites detectors. ( they were very...

Vortex V9 is going to be here Jan 09

I'm pretty confident you'll be ok with the new detector. Looking forward to a good report from you. I'm really looking to see how dunkable the unit is going to be. I'm still a bit chicken to submerge the nox 600 even tho its a later run unit. Mark ( ohio )
