    XT70 box not weatherproof?

Used it in the rain the other day and got some moisture forming inside the digital readout. I thought it was rain proof? Also had the slip on cover on it. Anyway I left it out to dry and its okay now. Thought you guys would like to know.

Need XT70 settings for an old mixed trashy site

I am assisting our local museum at a site with 320 years of Spanish and American WW2 history. They have found lots of gun parts from Springfields, Browning, Krag and probably even from a Lee Enfield. They have also dug up several live bombs which needed to be defused. Where they need help is...

    Jewelry readings on the XT70

[attachment 54050 DSC00002a.JPG] I'd like to share with you all an interesting spread of XT 70 readings for jewelry... Ranges from 4 to 18 are smaller gold items or lower carat gold. The small chain is an infant size sterling silver anklet. The big white ring is white gold. The items at 4...

Need button ID - Great Seal of the State of Oklahoma - 1907

Last Saturday my good buddy Popeye came up from Bacolod to do some detecting. Popeye is mainly a beach hunter w/ his Elite but on this trip I lent him my XS2aPro for some land hunting. Lots of coins in the sixties and seventies at one of these parks. We both had fun digging. On the first field...

Varied ID numbers on the XT70?

Has anyone tried to see if the IDs read differently in AM, Pattern 1 Track mode on and Pattern 1 Auto GB? I did some comparison (before digging) and got varied readings on two of our local dimes. Numbers seem quite different. What does it mean if the ID numbers are also quite different from...

    Musketball and Flint :detecting: day!

Its summer time here and the ground is real dry and as hard as cement! Two uneventful hours passed before I dug the musketball on a slope. The ball came out at a shallow 2 inches and a few meters away I dug another signal that turned out to be junk but the flint was in the same hole. This is my...

    Yesterday's battlesite finds

Visited an old Filipino-Spanish battlesite dating to 1898. My Sov was malfunctioning and stuck in all metal mode but this wasn't too much of a problem as trash was minimal. My past experience with this site also shows that the bullets came in louder & sharper in All metal while Disc mode was a...

Interesting link to a Laser Trident 2 vs Xterra 50 test

http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/field_testsnew.htm Its a UK site. Found it while surfing this evening. The Trident 2 is very similar to the Vaquero. Those who have both machines...what do you guys think about this?

    Jewelry readings on :minelab: Quattro

Was curious as to where most gold & silver jewelry fall on our Quattro ID so did some meter readings and hope this would be helpful to most jewelry hunters. BTW, these fine specimens were mostly borrowed and didn't come from the hole :-) how I wish :-) [attachment 22605 jewelrynumbers.jpg] #1...

Andy, Are all the X70 coils concentric coils?

Liked them on my Tesoros as they are easier to pinpoint and you can really dig up a lot more targets with them. My Minelabs Quattro/Sov all have DD coils and wonder how manufacturers decide to use concentric or DD as their stock coils. Why concentrics on the Xterras?

X70 Reviews? Those who also have the X30/50...let's hear some depth comparisons

Hope those who ordered them FIRST already have them :-)

Whats the difference between the 5900 & the XL Pro?

I hear the 5900 is a relic unit? Do they have the same depth?

ID'd another old find that belongs to... Lee United States Navy Rifle, Model 1895

This 6mm was found at an old spanish lighthouse...the gun was manufactured from 1896 to 1902 so that dates this find! [attachment 20152 Bullets.jpg] http://www.spanamwar.com/lee.htm The other bullet was found at the same site but I believe it is a 50 caliber...

Today's Sov find... and ID help needed.

This weak but diggable signal was under an old tree root. It's about 8.5 centimeters long with a 12mm diameter...any bullet experts care to ID this?
