    Skipped work...went Dig'n :twodetecting:

Unlike some who seem to have better luck behind the keyboard...I actually work hard researching, detecting, & making finds. I was lucky to have picked a perfect day off to meet with Mike from Outdoor Outfitters yesterday. Weather in the 60's. Nice :) He was on his way by for a hunt in CT. then...

    Dayoff hunt

I took the dayoff to meet with MIke from Outdoor Outfitters. He's passing through on "bisness" & I wanted to take him to a real New England Colonial cellar hole. He's on his way now, & we'll only have a few hours, but I'll try to take some pics..... HH, Bill

    T2 finds "holy grail" ;)

We hunted another colonial cellar hole foundation on Sat... My first signal right where I balanced the T2 was this tiny childs toy cup made of pewter. My friend called it a holy grail :) My second signal was a draped bust large cent that needs some cleaning work..... We also turned up some...

A hike for the "holy grail" :twodetecting:

Well, we finally got a clear Sat. to get out into the woods for another adventure. This seems like the first time Rob & I didn't have bags over our detectors and rain gear on. It was a perfect day...not too hot not too cold. The area of forest we'd looked at last time we had never even...

    Couple Colonial Find Favorites....

I was taking pictures today for another magazine article I'm working on & thought I'd share 2 of the items here. Some have probably seen this 1717 Spanish Cross 2 reales "pistareen" before. It was in the Fisher catalog, but the photo I always posted was a poor/ small scan... This one does it...

    the T2 goes relic huntin'...

My buddy Rob & I ventured back out into the woods to the Colonial foundation we found before.... Here's Rob checking out the pile of stones that once formed the large house's center hearth chimney.... [attachment 36211 ComplexRob2.jpg] The site is loaded with iron. The T2 balanced in @ 83, I...

    A Return to "The Complex"........

If most folks have been paying attention to my adventures..... We always come up with nicknames for our sites. Names we can call sites on our GPS units & also what I label my display cases so only WE know what & where..... The last big foundation site in the woods where the "Irish Shine"...

    Anyone using All-Metal mode?

I still have a borrowed T2 and I enjoyed the discussion on the 10 disc benefits below. I have mostly stuck with disc mode and experimenting with the various tones set-ups. Anyone proficient with all metal mode? I imagine it would be good for hunting Civil War relics & such maybe?... thanks in...

Hondo, the coverboy's dad called! :nono:

Now you've done it! Seems the little guy Steven is not too happy at the person who doctored his magazine cover photo! :ranting: He was very upset & said things like, "They Can't do that, I'm famous!" & "I'll kick their BUTTS!!" :punch: His father said he should call Bill Ladd & maybe...

One last trip out to sea......

As summer ends, the Fluke we have been fishing for know it's time to leave the bay...... John invited me out on his boat in one last ditch effort to get one. Here's the scene in Jamestown, RI. where his boat is.... [attachment 35039 1boat.jpg] The fluke seem to know exactly when August ends, so...

    Who's your "cover daddy"? :lmfao:

Looks like Steven Henderson is.....:) & Nice "period" gold chicken button there Tony..... NOt sure why they would put that there instead of your CSA Dowler. Oh wait! I know. It seems 1893 backmarks are rare confedorite Civil War ones in some great new buttin book so that be sum nice "shine" to...

    Just read Tony's W&E article........

"good things come to those who wait" Nice story, & unlike my stuff, it's clear Tony has a knack for sprinklin' in some humor as well. Like the cat homeowner, the lightbulbs, & Rick Flair quotes :lmfao:" I'm all "buisness" I guess..... ;)

    T2 on another hike....

Rob & I met in the morning Sat & beat the rains out to basically hike the same section of woods we already have found like 12 foundation holes in. But, we parked at a different spot this time to attack a part of the woods we'd yet to see..... Soon, as we gut out of the car, we walked right into...

Went Sat. too........Now up to 16! :wiggle:

Hopefully that wiggle smiley works instead of a dancin chicken ;) Rob & I met in the morning Sat & beat the rains out to basically the same section of woods we already have found like 12 holes in. But we parked at a different spot this time to attack a part of the woods we'd yet to see. Soon as...

Skipped work Friday :D Cellar Hole #13 :super:

This time took the T2 with me. I planned on hiking into the quarry site I had found a few weeks back (if anyone's been following my adventures). There are what look like 2 barn foundations there, & lots of "pin & feathered" granite blocks. This is how they split stone in the past.... Here's the...
