    1$ Gold coin v.d.i. question

As Larry had stated, a gold ring or chain does not have the mass of the gold coin, but they do have the higher conductivity for the 22.5kHz freq. to register as dominate. The dollar coin had the mass of a zinc penny, AND the conductivity of jewelry, so the middle frequency was dominate. Kind of...

Got a hat trick - 3 personal bests.

A great machine, and in a great area. I hope you brought it with you to md in MD!! :lmfao: Good huntin'!

    depth fun

Nice finds Steve. I like to do the same. Many times the buddy will be able to detect it with his Fisher but says that it isn't a good signal. That's what I like so much about the three frequencies. Pull the trigger and see that dominate 2.5 and I know for sure to dig.

Thinking of getting a Spectra VX3....Need advice.

Good luck! Go slow and stick with the factory programs for a good bit (like a month or so) until you are comfortable with tweaking things. Read and re-read the manual..... and don't forget to ground balance!!

Thinking of getting a Spectra VX3....Need advice.

Rob hits it spot on. If you are on the fence go with the V3i. The rechargeable battery pack and dd coil alone are worth the difference. I own the Vx3 and am happy with it, but I got it in trade, otherwise I would have went with the V3i. I use energizer rechargeable batteries and they work fine...

    VX3 users

It's a great machine and very easy to use. Although I may be a bit biased as I've had the XLT, two MXT's, and two Classics in the past.... Think ahead though. If you are familiar with White's platform (ie DFX or XLT), and have the extra cash, definitely consider the V3i. I traded a...

The Vx3 found it's first Indian

I like those Indian pennies with that pretty green patina, this one looks more like it was dipped in acid. But as always, it is cool to find something with an 1800's date on it!

The Vx3 found it's first Indian

Well it has been a while since I posted so I figured that a quick summary is in order for my new Vx3. I found my first Indian head penny of the year with it just last week. Sorry, no photos as it is pretty toasted. I can barely make out that it is in the 1800's, that's about it. Probably an 1877...

    VX3 and BCR

I love that pinpoint feature with the Vx3....just look for the dominate 2.5 freq. unless you have a potential gold hit...

    vx3 audio

I didn't realize the Vx3 had an external speaker...:lmfao: Guess I'd better see if mine works!

    DX-1 Sunray probe wanted

Although I have a propointer, I'd like to get a Sunray for my Vx3. I was spoiled by having one on my Explorer...:help: PM me with a price, please. I'll post back when I find one. Thank you!

    VX3 Recovery time

The sweet spot for me is around 60, but I keep having that nagging thought that I'm missing the deep stuff with it set faster. I keep my sweep speed at around 2-3 seconds, but Fox's recovery at 90 seems to lag a bit for me.....

    It's almost like coming home...

Thanks guys. I just finished adjusting a couple of programs for tomorrow's hunt. This bugger is pretty simple to operate. Hat's off to the White's team for a nice design. I guess I should go read the manual...:lmfao:

    It's almost like coming home...

I took a little hiatus from using a White's machine to try another detector. I must say that the Se Pro is a great machine, and it found some deep stuff, but I could not speak it's language... I recently traded it for a Vx3, and although I would prefer the V3i, I'm very happy with this machine...

What is your main search coil?

Well, I finally have a SE pro headed my way. I don't even have the machine in hand and I already have coil questions. Obviously the machine comes with a pro coil and although it has decent reviews, many of you folks have reported more depth and better stability with both the...

    WTB: Explorer SE Pro

As the title says, looking for a used SE Pro. One with a sunray probe would be nice, too! Thanks

    1st Contact with the SE

No, this isn't a story of me being abducted and provided with some kind of alien technology. :help: Although if it wasn't for the emulator I might have looked at it that way being a White's guy and all.... :lmfao: (Thanks Max!), The wife decided she wanted to go to a couple of horse auctions...

New to the forum, and Minelab.. :bouncy:

Howdy folks, I've been checking out this forum for the past three weeks or so, poking my head in once in a while and asking questions. So I figured that I should introduce myself proper. I'm a proud father of four children, three of which are triplets,( ie.. triplehooked), two horses, two...
