A couple of my old favorites from a seaside coast

Taken at Rockport Mass, one of my favorite places. One was at dawn, the other was a normal sea photo that I filtered to widen it....kinda weird but I liked the way it came out like it's bursting through the screen....my wife doesn't like that one...it makes her dizzy.

Playing with a macro....how many seconds is this exposure?

Yep, 6. You can tell by the second hand images. Lit the watch with a flashlight first to make it glow then turned it off and started the camera exposure. Image is really much larger than this but downsized it a bit.

I saw what looked like an eye in a birch tree so I ......

decided to take a closer picture then flip it horizontally and put it together and this is the face I got. Weird! I've tried this before but never with this good of results.

One of my favorite pre-dawn shots of an old local mansion

I was lucky that there was a bit of fog near the ground to pick up the window light rays.

Can't remember if I posted this....rare Aurora in Connecticut about 10 years ago

Then I just had the idea of trying to do the 'planet' thing....came out weird but I like it.

    Woodpecker from today....

Not bad but could have been better. It was very far away for my 500mm and partially in the shade. If it was a bit closer and in sunlight it would have been better.

Did you ever try 'painting with light'?

What you do is leave the shutter open in the dark then use a flash light or in this case a laser pointer and 'paint' or illuminate everything you want to light up then close the shutter. I've seen people have some nice shots outdoors doing this with a powerful flash light.

Trying a new process where you create a "planet" out of a panorama shot

Kinda weird but interesting. This was my first attempt using an existing panorama of a farm field but I'll have to try it again as they recommend, using a full 360 degree panorama.

This is a sign that spring is finally coming

A robin landed in a tree across the yard yesterday. Taken with a 500mm telephoto, manually focused. Sun was coming in at a great angle to illuminate it. I think it's gonna just find frozen worms though!

Macro shot of the window ice crystals

    It's ending soon....warmer this week....hope it continues!

    Sunrise Silhouettes

Silhouette of barn and house down the road.

A small waterfall in the woods

I chose not to use a long exposure on this one to make the water 'silky' like is usually done. I wanted to see the splashing water more clearly. 1/800th of a second I believe.

Old barn built 1795 but roof collapsed a few years ago due to heavy snow

It's a shame it lasted all these years. I went by and took a couple of quick shots around the time it happened. A couple of those items look like coffins to me, and maybe some sort of coffee grinder?

    Wanna see some icicles?

A couple of them taken with fisheye lens. Some of these icicles are HUGE!
