    That's great!....I love those things. I've found 4 I think since I've been detecting.

Is White's addressing the EMI problem. What are there fixes for the problem??? Thanks :D: :D:

I was in the house and had my rx set to 15 with my new 4 x 6 dd coil on and the only time I had problems was when I switched to one frequency. When I put it back to three, it quieted right down. I haven't seen the problem as much as other detectors. I agree that adjustments on the user's part...

Coinshooting / high trash deep coil

I just got my 4 x 6....it's a tiny thing but I love it. It's gonna be my main coil in a lot of areas because I keep running into a lot of trashy sites. It's very precise and still has pretty good depth and is easier for pinpointing of course. I notice it does have the v (and an M?) on the...

Coinshooting / high trash deep coil

I tried to buy the 5.3" from kellyco but they said that it overloads on the v3 and convinced me to buy the 4 x 6....will get it soon.

Is a different coil the solution to my previous post?

I still say the best way is to just add a 1 or 2 to the bottle cap rejection....it really breaks them up!

    4x6 Shooter Coil

Thanks for the info on the 4 x 6....maybe that's what I need since I'm encountering lots of trash at most of my sites. May I ask where can I buy one with the V designation on it?...does kelleyco sell it? Thanks!

Why do I get tons of positive vdi numbers in the red and rejected?

Thanks...it's nice to know some others are experiencing this. You may be right...the key is probably to just ignore it!

    Is the V3 worth buying?

Well I bought the etrac just before the v3 and I'm selling the etrac but not sure if that's the right decision for me. The etrac I liked for many reasons and it's got excellent depth but I've always liked white's machines so I a little more used to them. Strictly in my opinion, I wonder if...

As far as the bottle caps go....today I went out and saw one flush to the ground and my v3 was giving a good quarter. I went to the analyze screen and in this case there was no difference at all (which surprised me). Then I added bottle cap disc at only 1 and when I went over it, it definitely...

Why do I get tons of positive vdi numbers in the red and rejected?

That's one of the first things I did, is restore the programs to factory...it's really confusing me...if I'm in coin or coin and jewelry mode, high numbers like 75, 83, etc. should always be green I thought!

Why do I get tons of positive vdi numbers in the red and rejected?

I notice that with my other white's units if it was a rejected target it would give me negative numbers but on this one, for instance, in coin mode (or any other mode) I get +83 colored red....why doesn't it say -83 like it should, and should I be digging red numbers?...I thought they...

Quirks learning the V3 or are there bugs to be ironed out?

First I'd like to say that without the vco turned on I don't like the way it pinpoints, but once it's on, it seems to pinpoint dead on. I haven't had it lock up as you mentioned. One thing I think of is that if it doesn't seem to pinpoint correctly, make sure you move the coil away from the...

    machine probe RX Gain

Yes, I was speaking of ground balancing.....thought that nulling was just another term for that - sorry!

    machine probe RX Gain

I've been keeping mine at 15 and it's pretty stable. As jgedde stated it could be how well the coil was nulled. I hear a lot of folks saying to null the coil when you first turn it on...and I think maybe the manual says that, but I never do it that way....how do you know if you're over a...

    tone ID question

I have the minelab etrac ( I bought before I knew about the v3 ) and although its a good machine and deep, I will be selling it for the reason you mentioned: With tone id on, mine has been sounding off with tones that don't comply at all with many many targets. The vdi also jumps all over the...

New to Forum, new to V3, first impressions, questions

These posts of yours have produced a lot of info on the v3 and I thank you for them. Today I was detecting and I found a rusty bottle cap that I was sure was a quarter but next time I'll remember to check which frequencies are peaking. I've been really enjoying this detector and so far, I...

    Sunray DX-1

Ok, thanks CaptainRon...I really do like hearing different points of view on different equipment, settings etc. I think it helps us decide as individuals what seems to work best for us! -Dave

    Sunray DX-1

Thanks for your input but I've tried everything I could with it for 8 hours and I just don't find it that accurate especially for targets not flat...even with vco on. Try this...put a ring on edge and try to detect it with the dx-1...yes it does pick it up but the loudest or highest pitch comes...

Does anyone else use the relic mode with tone ID

I found that I really love relic mode on this machine, and tone id would be a good choice with it, but sometimes I get sick of the varying tones and like the solid tone and what the screen is telling me....depends what mood I'm in!

Humor me, Why do I need to hear Threshold?

I've always felt the same way and I've been detecting over 40 years. It bugs me and I usually turn it off. All the folks that answered you had good and logical reasons for using it and they're right, but most of the time, I don't want to understand the ground, or to hear where the iron is...
