I surely understand the desire to keep the Vision forum on topic, just like the E-trac when it first came out,

Well let's hope this was simply a miscalculation on their end and that the ban on comparison will be lifted. White's as a company usually has good judgment.

    battery charge and performance

I have a simple question. Does the performance of White's detectors' change as the batteries discharge? I seem to notice a "sweet spot" when the batteries display an '11' power level, but I could be imagining things.

I found lots of silver coins this month!

I'm loving the Whites M6! These are my silver finds so far for the month of February in "hunted out" public parks. This is way more fun then when I was hunting with a $40 radio shack detector in the mid 90's! ....and I've dug up too many wheat pennies to scan them all. Interestingly, the...

today's hunt - 2 silvers, one ring, and 6 wheaties!

My White's M6 is serving me well. I had my most exciting hunt today in an old soccer field. 1951d quarter 1941d Mercury Dime 6 wheat pennies. Oldest is from 1925. 14k gold ring (1943 engraved on it!) This hunt marks my first silver Washington (although I've found a standing liberty...

    My first standing liberty quarter.

I found my first standing liberty quarter today! [attachment 117100 slq.jpg] In fact, this is my very first silver quarter find and I have yet to uncover a silver Washington quarter. I just started detecting in December '08 and I'm hunting with a Whites M6. Since starting, I have also...

iffy signal strategy - how to get the deepest coins?

I have a question about iffy signals. If I get a good smooth tone (faint and high-pitched), but can only repeat the tone when I swing in one direction, should I dig? I've only been digging if I can repeat the signal when scanning from all different directions. Maybe this is why I'm not...

Silver dimes / silver quarters (whats your ratio?)

I just got my Whites M6 (which for coinshooting is similar to the MXT) a week ago and have already found the following: - 3 silver Roosevelt dimes (1959,1960, 1962) - 1 Mercury Dime (1940) - 13 wheat pennies - and more clad than I can fill two pockets with.. This hobby is quite addictive and...

    Whites m6 defective?

I just got my new Whites M6 and love it. However, I notice that the plug hole on the control box where the coil cable plugs in allows the connection to wiggle around, even after the cable is screwed securely in. Is this "wiggle" normal, or should I get warranty service?
