My MXT was on fire this weekend

I took my MXT with 6" DD Excelerator search coil to a town close to mine this weekend and I did rather well. I was actually surprised to find all that I did. I will have to hit these parks some more. Top billing of my finds were the gold and silver dollars, the Kennedy half and the 25" 14K gold...

BEACHHUNTER comes to the aid of fellow hunter

Hi folks, I contacted BEACHHUNTER a while back wanting information on obtaining a straight shaft for my White's Beach Hunter ID. Not only did Beachhunter sell me his straight shaft, he included a number of accessories in the deal at no extra charge. Then when he shipped the items the postal fees...

Have you had this problem with your White's detector?

This is the second cuff that has broken on my MXT. When it breaks your hunt is over. The one bolt that holds the cuff is always coming loose and even when tight the detector is wobbly while you are swinging. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to solve the problem?

Does your White's detector have this problem?

This is the second time that I have had a cuff break. When it breaks your hunt is over. The way it is attached leaves a lot to be desired. The single bolt design is sloppy and is always working loose. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to solve the problem? HH Dennis in Idaho

1 hour hunt in the park

The weather was windy and cold but we decided to make a hunt in the local park anyway. We only hunted for about an hour and did not find much, but I did recover this nice 10K Black Hills gold ring with a Garnet gemstone. I was swinging my MXT and using the new 10x14 Excelerator search coil. I...

Just added the Excelerator 10x14 DD

searchcoil to my arsenal of Excelerator coils. When I attached the coil to my MXT I found it had good balance. I got a chance to put the coil through its paces for a couple hours or so at a school near my home. During my hunt I saw that the coil pinpointed right on the money, VDI numbers were...

    The Money Tree

Today I took my MXT with 6" Excelerator to an old park for a hunt. When I arrived I noticed that park employees were working near the play ground. They had dug up some sod and in the middle of the work area they had dug a hole. I went over to talk with them and found that they were about to...

    Mother's day is coming so

I headed for the park to dig up a present.LOL Well it didn't take long swinging my MXT with 6" Excelerator. I got a strong steady 10-12 VDI at 3 inch's. I recovered a nice gold ring which has a ruby and diamonds. I took the ring home to my wife and she loved it, and it fit her to boot, but I...

    Unique stick pin

Hello I am the wife of steelheadfever. We were hunting an old site in our home town. The site has been the home to numerous homes and business's since the late 1800's. Most recently the site had a store on it and it has been torn down for something new. This is the same site that my husband...

Today I unveiled a beautiful lady.

Today I decided to hunt an area that I had just recently found a 1909 Wheatie. I had the feeling that there was more to be found at the site. Upon arrival I saw much to my dismay another guy swinging his detector. I introduced myself and told him that I too metal detected. He told me that he was...

    My aching back!!!!

Not that I am complaining because it was a good hunt today. I hunted for a little over 3hrs and scored a nice ladies diamond ring. Ok the diamonds are not big, but they are diamonds none the less. The band is silver and halmarked along with being stamped 925. I am still hunting a church ball...

    Todays hunt

Today I spent about two hours at a church ball diamond. I was swinging my MXT with my 6" DD Excelerator coil. I dug a nice hand full of clad and a few other items including a nice gold 1997 HS class ring. It is from our local high school so the owner should not be hard to locate. I am sure he...

    1909 Wheat penny

Hi, Yesterday I dug a 1909 wheatie that is has a lot of corrosion on it. I can make out the date but I can not see any mint mark because of the corrosion. Anyone have an idea as to what to use to remove the corroison. Thanks and HH Dennis in Idaho

I think I am a leg up on ya all !

It has been a little slow this past week, I have been able to hit a couple of sand lots and that is about it. You just never know what you are going to find, and a prime example of that is the two live 12 gauge shot gun shells, I dug at about 6". Makes you wonder where the parents were at. I did...

    Strange necklace pendant

Hi, I thought someone might have seen this crest and knows what it stands for. I dug it today at a local elementary school. Thanks and HH Dennis in Idaho

    Nothing much today, but

I did recover a strange necklace with a shield on it with the words "Promptness and Energy" on it. I have never seen one like it before, but if you have let me know I would appreciate it. I also recovered two coins from Argentina which was kinda cool. Weather here in Idaho is great for mding. If...

    03-25-07 finds

Toothache or not, I went out for about 2hrs. Recovered some odds and ends. Found some clad, Spanish coins, Boy scout and cub scout neckerchief slides, bracelet, bottle cap opener, cheap ring, $ pendant, necklace, and a tire inflater turned into a pot pipe. It was found in the outfield of a ball...
