    7/11 hunt

    Went out yesterday for about 2 hrs. It was so HOT, the ground was like cement. We did get some rain last night which will soften the ground. Didn't find anything to great, but the clad will add up and the native copper will go in the box with the rest of it. I got close to 100 lbs. of copper now...

    Interesting Nickle

    Found this nickle today, looks like it my be an error strike. The edge is rolled over the front of the coin. The date looks to be 1970. Anyone have any info on a strike error of that year?

    DOES OLIVE OIL REALLY CLEAN COINS?

    I have heard that olive oil cleans coins but haven't tried it. If so how do you use it. I know dumb question but I have ruined some coins using other cleaning methods.

    DAY 2 AT THE RACE TRACK

    We went back to the track today for 2 1/2 hrs. Lots of clad to be had and trash to. Haven't dug to many nickle hits yet( that will be a nightmare) Clad total $9.75 Soon my son will have enough to get his ace 250. He don't like using the old Whites.

    IH Penny and a silver pin

    Went out for about an hour and found a 1889 IH penny and a silver pin. The penny is in rough shape but still a great find to me. That makes 6 IH pennies for this year. The pin is pretty cool it says sterling on the back. Don't know how old it is but guessing I would say early 1900's .
