I know you fans are out there...

Any offers? Not sure what this is..probably a heavy gauge aluminum. Has a copyright 2002 on the back. MrGee

Been lookin for this little rascal for 16 months!

I know some of you guys find these by the bucket full, but it's been VERY elusive for me. This is my first one and it doesn't look like it ever circulated at all...no wear at all that I can see. It was abut 3 feet from the stump of a huge big walnut tree and less than 2 inches deep. And I...

Here's my coolest ring this summer.

I found this in a tot lot in a neighboring town. I was about an inch down in wood chips. It's stamped 10K and has 13 tiny little diamonds. I'm planning to drop by the jewelry shop tomorrow and have them take a look at it. MrGee

    Okay, can somebody explain this?

Today I found a dime. when it came out of the ground it felt light and looked gray rether than "silvery". It's dated 2003D and as it turns out it IS light, because it IS aluminum and on the back it's embossed "COPY". I've never heard of such a thing and it appears to be an exact replica...

I'm pretty hyped up right now

I've been pretty quiet for a while now since I haven't found anything exciting, but today that changed. I mentioned to a neighbor yesterday that I was srrprised that I hadn't found any Mexican coins, considering the large Hispanic population around here. So this morning I pulled one out of a...

    Anybody recognize this button?

Found this yesterday, real shallow on the local sledding hill. The hill is not natural...it is manmade and is was built with all sorts of trash, so no telling where this might have come from. I found what looks to be an identical one (except in MUCH nicer sape) on the internet but it gave no...

    found a token today

I love finding tokens. This one is "All Quality Mints", "Good for one 5 c package of Mints". I see lots of references to them on the internet and one for sale on EBay for $ .99 so they aren't of any particular value, but I can't find any reference to about what era they were distributed...

Had a real problem this afternoon

I think that i forgot how to use my Ace over lunch today. I fought with it all afternoon...I couldn't get a good solid repeatable signal to save my life and anytime I finally got it narrowed down, it would pinpoint anywhere inside a one foot square. I tell 'ya I couldn't get anything to work...

    oops...forgot my spoon

I found this next to the tennis court in a small park on Ssturday. It's silver plated copper. It's marked Wm Rodgers, AT plus.

finaly got pictures of yesterdays finds.

I found this nice silver pendant in a school tot lot. It's very likely from one of the SW US reservations....Navaho, etc. It's not marked at all but it heavy enough to be silver. I'll have to have it checked. The stone looks fake to me. The other pendant is, I believe, gold plated and its a...

    Miserable day today, but....

Went out today to a couple of parks, and the elementery school tot lot. Temp was about 45 wtih 45 mph wind gusts. like to froze my fingers off digging around in that cold mud, but I stuck it out for about an hour at a time. Found a little clad but also found a gold plated pendant in one of...

    Ahhhhh! Spring!

We got 6 inches of fresh spring yesterday afternoon and last night. It would have been 10 inches of spring except that the ground was warm enough that the first few inches melted as it fell. My Ace has a thick layer of dust on it by now. But on the bright side, the batteries are still at full...

May I whine for a moment?

By this time last year I had about 6 weeks of detecting behind me. this year I probably don't have more than 6 hours in. After coming through one of the coldest Marchs on record, it rained all night last night and today it turned to snow. Yep..April 16th and it's snowing. Add to that, the...

Detector-les day today, but a nice road trip

My brother in law and I took a road trip today to the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Didn't get to see even half of it but it was still really awesome. They have a lot of nicely restored aircraft including a couple of my favorites, the P-51 Mustang and the P-38 Lightning. Sorrry to be...

My my! It's good to be back in business

Got out for a little while today. Went to the only park in town that isn't still snowcovered..I found a little clad but also a poscket knife (which is soaking in oil right now, so no pics yet) and a (cheap) ring. First one of the summer. Looks nice but of no value. Made a short trip through...

Finally got to dig some holes today

It was in the high forties today and I found a strip of bare ground between the road and the ball diamond in a park. We're still about 80% snowcovered but the strip of open ground was crying out to me. Didn't find a lot only 73 cents (clad) but darn, it felt good to be out and making holes...

My new best friend down at the nursing home

Talked to one of the residents down there who was born in the area and has lived around here his whole life. He's 83. He pointed out on a map where a logging camp was located in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Just down the river from there he pointed out where the old boy scout camp was...

    Welcome to Spring

I'm looking out at 12 to 15 inches of new snow and it's still snowing. I may never get out again. MrGee
