    The Garrett heat seeker!

Went for a mid afternoon hunt today at my favourite spot. Picked up just over $6 for a 90min hunt. One of the $2 coins that I found gave what appeared to be 2 separate signal in different notches with 2 separate pinpoint hits. I assumed that I had 2 separate targets, so I pulled out the...

    Bill Ladd F5 video clip?

Hi Bill. I just read over on the Bounty hunter forum that you put together an F5 video. I haven't come across it as yet and was wondering if you could direct me to a link. Thanks. Mick Evans.

    Pinpoint question on the F5.

I've noticed that several folk have commented that the F5 gives an overload signal on just about anything that is just under the surface. My question is, if you simply raised the coil an inch or 2, wouldn't that eliminate the overload signal? Thanks. Mick Evans.

    F2 F5 questions

Hi all. I've just been watching some U-Tube type videos on these 2 machines to see how well they operate. The F5 was being used in an area of the Californian gold rush and the F2 seemed to be tested on a lawn. The F2 locked into specific numbers for coins very consistently which impressed me...

    Question for Aussie detectorists.:ausflag:

I started out in this hobby with a Tracker IV about six years ago. Sold it after 2 years and have forgotten most things about it. I never was very good with it. My question is, can you easily tell our Aussie gold coins from screw caps? If you can, what makes each target so distinct from each...

Question about the battery pack on the GTI.

I was wondering how folk get on with their Garrett machines when the battery pack is hip mounted. I operated my GTI with the battery pack mounted in a camera bag (over my shoulder) for most of the hunts that I did while in Sydney over the Christmas period. Having it in the camera bag allowed me...

    Final hunt with the Ace.

Took the Ace out yesterday and hit my favourite spot plus hit the playing surface of the local touch footy fields. turned up just over $10 and the most unusually damaged 20c piece. It must have been hit twice by a lawn mower to end up looking like a piece of eight that they find in England...

Questions about pinpointing with the prospecting mode.

I'm looking to sell off my 30 and Ace and replace them with the 70. I've only used the 70 a few times but was not able to figure out how to get to the prospecting mode easily to pinpoint with. Is it only a matter of pressing a single button, or do you need to fiddle around a bit to get there...

    Safari tones.

I just watched the Tex Kinsey clip om utube. Is it my imagination, or does the Safari sound suspiciously like an Explorer? My old Explorer is near the end of it's service life and I was hoping to replace it with an SE when it dies, but it appears that the SE is no longer available. :thumbdown...

It was the morning after Christmas and all the little boys and girls of the land were fast asleep.......

while those of us with detecting toys went out to play.:detecting: especially as I was now in Sydney; my happy hunting ground. (Sometimes I wish we still lived there.) Got up around 5am each morning for several hours of detecting pleasure. (As a night owl, it just was a struggle for the first...

    Thank you Roscobookbinder!:clapping:

I just want to say a big thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent. Who cares if I can't plug batteries into it. I'm halfway through reading the book. I've been reading it while in Sydney. Also, a big thank you for the coins and the slip sheets and binder. I've only ever found a couple of...

Had some good success with the DD coil on the GTI.

I took the GTI with the 5x10 Scorcher on yesterday. I hit my favourite spot which has been very lean for finds this year. It's a farmers market site that is only a 15 min walk from home. Over the last 9 months I've only been finding between $1 and $5 after each market, so It's hardly worth...

    Target separation on the 1350?

While I appreciate that the 1350 is very similar to the GTI's, I was wondering how it goes at separating targets. On the GTI, I have found that the minimum distance between 2 similar sized targets, that allows you to distinguish them as separate targets, is around 4.5 inches. With the 10x5 DD...

Christmas gift exchange is now closed. Will those that have private messaged their personal details through yet, please do so. I'm in a bit of a rush

if you have any concerns about sending a gift to the same person that you did last year, then could you let me know and I'll redraw another name out for you. It's bound to happen to one or 2 people; otherwise it's time to think about what to buy. Have fun. Mick Evans.

Hey Marco! I see your latest bit of work went on general display to the public tonight.

They even got a couple of local actors to open the show for you. One of these days, they'll be able to afford a couple of yank actors to do the honors for you. Might be a bit far for them to travel though. Good luck with it. Mick Evans. P.S. I hope you had a couple of shares in it.
