    Can v3i be set deeper than preset coin & jewelry program?

    Seems to me that if vdi number is rejected - then machine has to - reject/null/recover - whereas if not rejected and assisgned 0 tone - then no rejection/null/recovery time/delay - therefore less masking. Not sure that's right - just my thoughts. Interesting subject - thanks for posting! hh

    VDI not reading correctly

    VDI numbers aren't always 100% - especially at depth and/or mineralization. Try this - next time do a manual ground balance - then rescan target - if vdi changes significantly that's your problem - drift - if using locktrac need to gb more often/and/or offset +/- - if using ground trac - need...

    pinpointing ?

    I THINK SARGE MAY BE ON TO SOMETHING. I JUST GOT MINE BACK AFTER UPGRADE AND PINPOINT WAS RATCHET - NOT VCO. THAT WOULD EXPLAIN YOUR ISSUE - RATCHET DETUNES ON EACH PASS - EVENTUALLY LOSING SIGNAL. JUST A THOUGHT - HOPE YOU FIGURE IT OUT. HH

    I bought me a new machine, the V3i

    Congratulations on the nice finds. I think that once more people get the hang of it - the v3i will open up lots of "hunted out" sites - whether its because of depth/trash/separation/id, etc... it can be done with this machine. Happy hunting and good luck.
