    Depends on your ground minerals - light moderate(5.3 concentric) - heavy(4x6 elliptical) - and your preference/comfort level with different type coils. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    1st time out with the V3i

    Slower sweep speed can make all the difference - especially with lower filter settings - keep trying different settings till you get it to all come together for your area and style of hunting. I agree that smaller coil can make it easier to learn and find correct settings.

    Advice for a V3i newbie?

    May try slowing your swing speed some and be sure your coil is staying flat/parallel at the ends of each sweep - hope you get 'er figured out. GL and HH
