Do you have to do the 1.0 before the 1.1 or does it not matter? Thanks guys.

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Forgot to tell you but all the black soldiers were issued .69 caliber rifles.. By this time probably the standard was a .58. Let me know about SSI.

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Jim, let me know when you go to SSI next time, if you want to. I'll take you and your wife to lunch, my treat. I've been going there since the late '40's as a kid. I can show you where the 54th / 57th Mass. Regiment camped on SSI. Can't remember exactly the number of the regiment. I found a .69...

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

I actually grew up in Brunswick and lived on Saint Simons for about a year when I was stationed at NAS Glynco. I got my wings there and was sent back twice more. And no, I'm not an angel. Met my wife on the "Island" in front of the King and Prince Hotel. Best thing that ever happened to me. Such...

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Jim, I would like to meet you in Knoxville with Greg, if it happens, but Germantown is a long, long way from Knoxville. My granddaughter and first grandson were born in Memphis. 22 years ago. Big changes in that area I'm sure.

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Greg, thanks so much for the update on Knoxville. In the '70's it was a great place to live but that was a long time ago. I'm a person that doesn't like change unless it brings positive results but it seems inevitable. Never could understand why a lot of changes in most cities brought negative...

Six days detecting at four beaches

Buck you have a great detector(s) set up and great finds. Sounds like a mighty fine time.

    Deus 2 question regarding frequencies.

Greg, I lived in Knoxville for a few years back in the early '70's, off Kingston Pike where a new mall had been built. Great area, great town in a great state. We even became U.T. fans. The local school buses would pick us up , take us to the stadium , the take us back to our front door...

Rumor has it that XP is looking at new update

Tony I am with you on selecting only what you would upgrade. I.ve often wondered why that's not possible. But, I'm also inept at computer stuff. Nice to have 3 grandchildren teenagers. I got lost right after the "tube" age.

    Banning of metal detecting

Cap. Kirk you are right. Armadillo's took over e. central Georgia years ago. They are a real pest. Like the skunk I accidentally ran over at my front entrance. Bad mistake on my part.

Disc at 6.8 on some programs…why so specific? Why not 7?

Digdog thanks for the response. I really enjoyed the Jersey area I lived in. Those northerners were down right nice to us southerners. Very fine and gracious people. I did meet one young lady that truly believed we still had slaves in the south. She was dumb as a doughnut hole but she was a...

My second time out with the Legend.

Steve, what a nice way to start off with a new detector. Rings are rare around this area in the farm fields. Way-to-go!

Disc at 6.8 on some programs…why so specific? Why not 7?

Digdog, where do you live in N.J.? You sound a little close to my age but I think only God may be older. I was stationed in Lakehurst in '59, '60 and '61. Lived near Seaside Heights, then Toms River. I was an airship driver. Blimps!. They closed down all airship squadrons in Nov. '61. I was in...

    Coil charging clip

I really like the bevel idea. It took me awhile to realize there is only one way it fits the coil. I tried jamming the clip the first time. I learn fast------well, once in a while. I bought the "other" clip a a backup. Rarely use it though.

Great find! I've found the firing system in various pieces but never like yours.

Finally the first hunt of the yr... after 25+yrs of doing this, I commit the biggest rookie mistake...

Mark, I'm still making dumb mistakes after 49 years of hunting. Yesterday I drove my pickup to a field, got out and stepped right on top of a BIG fire ant mound. At that moment I think I just invented about 3 or 4 new dances. I"ve done this a few times after hitting a target and never look...

How many remember the very first detector you started the hobby with and how long ago ??

Mine was a White's bought in June 1974 at Cook's Appliance Repair in Albany, Georgia. Can't remember the model number. I think most towns in America had a White's dealer back then. They were a great company to do business with. Ron, that's a funny story about the Jetco coils. Oh yes, I just...
