    Here's The New Garrett "APEX" Metal Detector!

    If there are no programming issues, wouldn't ever need an update. Doubt if Garrett would release something with programming issues, or an unfinished product. To make the Apex waterproof and submersible, the battery would have to be housed in a completely sealed control box.

    Your update was maybe corrupted during file download. I would re-download the update file and try updating again. See if that helps.

    Garrett GTI 1500

    SAme back in the early 200's. We had two 1500's. Excellent machine, found tons of stuff, real happy with them. Then switched to the 2500. Before finally switching the the White's MXT for a change in brands.

    Try a different USB port. Make sure the coil is connected and when you plug the USB cord into the computer, make sure the Simplex is turned off. Then wait until the Simplex screen, the charge indicator shows the detector is charging. Then push Find Device button. Reinstall the updater if that...

    You have to watch the video to get the full gist of it. Some may find the mute setting useful and the volume settings give those who have had wired headphone volume too low, too loud complaints dual choices. Since not every headphones has the same specs.
