    gold has been scarce ...

Take good care of her and relish the time with her. My mom has been gone nearly 11 years now. Wife and I were reminiscing about her yesterday.

Have you had a chance to give the CS 4Pi a workout?

    gold has been scarce ...

Thank you! We found very few sharks teeth when we were in Maryland. Now that we are in South Carolina we find a lot of them. Wife and youngest daughter are very good at spotting them. Me, it has to just about jump at me to find it.

Looking up the ring; it is designed and made by Southern Gates in Charleston, SC. Here in this area, sharks teeth are pretty plentiful. In the same couple of hours on the beach, wife found 8 of them.

    gold has been scarce ...

At least I got a little silver. With the beach replenishment they did last month, I was expecting to be finding a lot of 50 caliber shells and points, but I'm not. Got out for a couple hours with the Excal and was hitting a lot of iron bits. Only three non-ferrous today, a silver ring a quarter...

I doubt it but did you hear of anyone crazy enough.......

All in the National Park areas. Great fishing area even though you can't detect there.

I doubt it but did you hear of anyone crazy enough.......

We haven't been there in four years. It looks like the little Thai restaurant we liked is still open. Thai Room Restaurant in KIll Devil Hills. If they still have the same cooks you could get your food as spicy as you wanted. I would get medium and it would give me a nice sweat on my head and...

South of Nags Head the ban on metal detecting starts. Bodie Island is a state park where detecting is banned unless you are looking for something you lost and have obtained a permit to detect for it. South of that is the National Park and no detecting is allowed. Nags Head and north up to...

    Any ideas?

The details shown in this set of pictures make it look a bit different. Could be a book or a harp.

    Any ideas?

My guess is a religious medallion. A woman (Mary?) holding baby. In the lower right corner it looks like three men kneeling (three wise men?)

    Tejon Interference

Yes. Have not used it in a while. I should put it on the Tejon and go over the yard. Been thinking about getting one of the Detech Arrow coils for the F75 and hit the beach. The Tejon does not ground balance to the wet sand at the ocean beaches but the F75 does. One of the first finds with the...

Sanded in week on the Gulf of America

They raised the size limit on flounder. It was 15 inch minimum, now it is 16 inch minimum. Can have 5 per person and no more than 10 per boat. I would guess that the area 51 lights out was for a next generation stealth aircraft. Maybe the next generation bomber? Either that or ET was visiting...

Sanded in week on the Gulf of America

Never went out for big tuna. I think wife has the pictures of pulling up the crab pots on her phone. I'll see if she can find one or two. Here is the nice size flounder she got two summers ago. Most of the ones we get are not big enough to keep, but this was more than big enough. Great eating...

Sanded in week on the Gulf of America

we had a great trip. Had a cousin and her husband with us. They have been with us on the Gulf before but had never been to New Orleans so we did a three day trip to NOLA. We had a full week in Panama City Beach; not a lot of targets, and over about a two mile stretch of beach did not find much...

Sanded in week on the Gulf of America

Was in Panama City Beach for a week. First day there they were dragging beach lounge chairs onto the beach stacked in piles with several rows of piled lounge chairs. They are preparing for a bigger crowd come spring break. Next day the chairs started to get buried in sand. By the end of the week...

    CS4pi

One thing I'll do when I don't want to fight the waves and decide to stay in the wet sand is, when I find a target I'll start at that point and start a spiral out from the target and see if I get more targets in about five or six spirals around the first target. Spirals are close enough to make...

    Interesting history.

Can you read the headstamp? Here is some information about WWII era head stamps. http://nebraskaaircrash.com/50caliber.html

    Interesting history.

They are doing beach replenishment in the Myrtle Beach area now. Normally after they do that the 50 calibers from WWII training they did just off shore before sending new pilots overseas get pumped up on the beach and there are more to find. I've got a couple handfuls of them.

If I found something like that, I would not wait for help in carrying to get there. I'd more likely leave it submerged and take it out in smaller bundles at a time and not tell anyone!
