    At Pro falsing

I bought an AT Pro but didn't receive it in time to try it our before the detecting season ended here. I didn't bother to take it out of the box until recently when I decided that I would take it DIV in Virginia in case it rained. I found out from some very experienced members of another forum...

    T2 Issues

I bought my T2 LTD for a hunt in Virginia because I had heard from several sources that my Minelab SE PRO would not do will in the "cruddy wed dut" in VA. I found that the T2 did not have a steep learning curve and the light weight of the machine was a big plus. It turns out that the on-off...

    Southern California Beaches

I am headed out to Southern California from Vermont and would like to hunt some of the local beaches. We will be near Huntington and Newport Beaches. Are there any restrictions that anyone is aware of to detecting there? Thanks. :detecting:

:clapping: GOLD DOUBLOON OR NITRO

My wife has been staying at our place in Vero Beach, Florida, and has found pretty much nothing up to now. She called today and said she found a coin that sounds like a gold doubloon. She can't send me a pic because her Internet connection is down. Both the McLarty and Mel Fisher...

    GTI Coils

I have the standard coil, the big coil and the sniper coil. I would like to do some gold and relic detecting. Which of the other coils available for the 2500 would any of you recommend? Thanks.

    A John-Edmonton kind of day.

I was out in the woods yesterday deer hunting. It was 14 degrees F and snowing, a John-Edmonton kind of day. Deer weren't moving, saw nothing. I probably should have taken a detector instead of a deer rifle. :surrender:

    Salt/Fresh Water Detector Advice

I currently have a Garrett GTI 2500 and ACE 250 which I am happy with for general detecting. I would like to get a detector for beach, salt and fresh water detecting, but not spend a fortune as I only get to the beach 6 or 7 times a year. I am looking at a Tesero Tiger Shark, a Detecterpro...

1715 FLEET BEACHES, NO GOLD, BUT.......:clapping:

Spent 10 days searching the Vero Beach area for 1715 Fleet treasure. Found no gold, but did find two 8 Real cobs, 3 small cobs, two musket balls ( I thought these were fishing weights, but a guy at Fisher corrected me), one small cross and a buckle. The large cobs were taken to the McLarty...

    ACE 250 Week End Finds

My wife took my 2500 to Florida for our upcoming assault on the 1715 Fleet beaches. I took some time out of bow hunting to see what the little Yella Fella could do. One of the black coins is a 1892 Barber Quarter that is pretty worn. The other black coin is a Nova Scotia large cent that...

    Good Florida Beach

I will be in the Vero Beach area for two weeks with my wife and brother from California. We will be looking for 1715 Plate Fleet stuff, but I know that the signals will be few and far between. I would appreciate it if anyone out there could point me to a beach that is fairly close where we...

    ACE 250 Questions

Based on advice from Uncle Willy and others, I purchased an ACE 250 as a backup for my GTI 2500. So far I have been surprised at how well this little "yella fella" works. I have a couple of questions: Is it worth while to buy the larger coil or the sniper coil? I know that the sniper is for...

First Gold/Diamond or Just a Nitro Minute

I was detecting at a beach that I was previously kicked off of (see my previous post). I got an interesting signal near a picnic table in the sand that had metal legs. I was stunned when the ring in the attached photo appeared in my scoop! I first thought that it must be plastic, but of...

    2500 Issues

I have been learning to use my 2500 and am looking for some insight into some issues that have come up. One problem is that I sometimes get a signal that rings the belltone but I can't get it to repeat. If I pinpoint it, there is sometimes something there. Another issue is that sometimes when...

    ACE 150 vs. ACE 250

My wife and I are new at metal detecting. She started out with an ACE 150 and has moved up to an X-Terra. I have a GTI 2500 and am happy with it although I am still learning to use it. We have kept the 150 as a backup machine. The question is whether the 250 is that much better than the 150...

    BEST NEW ENGLAND BEACHES?

My wife and I are fairly new to detecting. We live in Vermont and have detected the beaches around the Lake, but they aren't great. We have detected Old Orchard Beach in Maine and Hampton Beach in NH. Does anybody have suggestions for good beaches for detecting that are within reasonable...

    X-Terra 50 for Beach Hunting

On advice of folks at Kellco, I recently purchased an Xterra 50 for my wife for beach hunting. She likes to get down in the wet sand to hunt, and her ACE 150 just doesn't cut it there. After reading the review posted in the Xterra section, I am wondering if that was not a wise decision. Anybody...

    Xterra 50 for Beach Hunting

I recently purchased an Xterra 50 for my wife for beach hunting. After reading the review on the machine, I am wondering if that was not a wise decision. Anybody out there using a 50 on the beach and any advice? Thanks.
