    History channel Club token

I found this token a couple of days ago while hunting and thought it was interesting. It is not worth any money to speak of and a mint one can be bought for about 2 to 3 dollars. I Googled it and found several pictures of mint ones. It is about the size of a nickle. It has "THE HISTORY CHANNEL...

    Toltec 100

Well I have not stuck my nose in here for a while now, so here goes. A vaquero is my main hunting machine, but I like to hunt with a older Tesoro once in a while. A while back I picked up a Toltec 100. It was running OK, but just not up to what I thought it should, so I sent it in for a tune up...

    Crossed up again

I have noticed that there is not much being posted right now. I was out hunting and with the normal coins, junk jewelry and trash, I found this little jewel. It is sterling with CZ's very nicely mounted. All I have done to it so far is wash it, I have not tried to clean it up yet, but it is real...

    Metal detecting ground digging mat

I have few pieces latex from the end of the roll that does not make good slingshot rubber. It does not pass my notch test. However if you are not allergic to latex it will make a nice washable digging mat. The pieces that I have are approxmently 14x10 inches and .030 thick. You can fold or roll...

    :usaflag: Hunted out parks

:detecting: Well, after a lay-off because of being too busy, I got out a couple of times. Stopped off for a little while at three parks that are suppose to be hunted out and they have not seen much traffic yet this year. Notice in the lower right a dime with a hole shot or burned through it. I...

    :usaflag: Why the coins?

:detecting: I am suppose to be a jewelry hunter, so why all the coins, Hmmmm. The 4 items next to the quarter are parts of a broken silver necklace. I dug very little junk this time, but a Quarter, nickel, dime and a bunch of pennies. It was a strange hunt. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

    Dog Gone

 I Can't speak for others, but I don't think the Tesoro forum is close to being the same without Tabdog. I really miss his stories and pictures. He really promoted metal detecting here. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

:usaflag: A warm morning in the park.

:detecting: It was a very warm morning at the tot lots. No real jewelry. I was ask to leave as It had been reserved (no I was not hunting close to anybody). Think about that a public park reserved. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

:usaflag: Two a hunting in harmony!

:twodetecting: My wife and I went for a short hunt this morning and I proved that the eye is quicker than the detector. It had rained about 5 inches in a couple days last week. There were some small washes where I looked and the running water uncovered a few finds for me. Nell

    :usaflag: The white stripe syndrome

:twodetecting: When you are a jewelry hunter and hunt in places that get hunted a lot, the white stripe syndrome pops up once in a while. What is the white stripe syndrome, well some call it skunked. My wife and I went to a park this morning that we hunt often. Well she found a small piece of...

:twodetecting: Will since I know that the tab is gone, I don't have much of a heart for posting, but here goes. The Lion ring on the left is sterling. Bill in Texas :tesoro:

    :usaflag: Vaquero depth

:detecting: I just did some air testing with my Vaquero and found out something interesting. It has better depth with a fresh battery than with 2/3 used up ones (by my battery meter or 3 beeps on the detector). It still run smoothly, but just does not get as much depth. With fresh battery I get...

    :usaflag: Two in the morning

:twodetecting: My wife and I went to the park for a little hunt this morning. We enjoyed the weather and found enough to be interesting. That is the good news, but now for the bad. The other day I thought the soil where I was hunting was blanking out the Compadre. Well this morning I found out...

    :usaflag: Ground balance a must

:detecting: I went out fer a little while today and only found a few coins. I took the Compadre and the ground where I was hunting was terrible. It was a gray color and it was killing the Compadre's performance. I first noticed it when I could not read a zinc penny that was on the surface. I set...
