    rookie beach hunt

    Planning a trip to daytona have never hunted beaches. Have an XS with small and large stock coils. Does anyone think I might have a problem as long as the box doesn't get wet. maybe 2' out in the water. And right at the water edge.

    Question! If curser is at the top right does this indicate copper penny. Would it also indicate silver dimes? I only get memorial pennies.This sucks...I primarily use preset settings.

    back from repair

    I finally got my XS back from repair, after about 2 months. Ive not used it for about 4 yrs. Now getting back into it. Using mostly the preset settings. All I have found is clad and memorials.     Canadian coin

    I don't understand. I found a 1925 Canadian nickel. It is in xF condition. Book value is between $50 an $150. Took it to a coin shop to possibly sell. Guess what they offered me?? 25 cents Granted It's the excitement of the finds but is everyone out for profit. This is very disappointing.

    The Minelab forum pages are great. I have not used my XS in 6 yrs. but am going to relearn. Going thru "all" the pages and viewing the photos of different finds gets my heart restarted. To relearn, the classroom forum is great, especially the older messages which i used to think did not have...

    water proof?

    use an XS. ? are standard ,minelab coils, waterproof and do they need protection if you would srrub the ground?
