    im headed down the beach very soon with 4 others for a vacation and we plan on doing some metal detecting but couldnt see spending $20.00 each on some scoop that could get at tractor supply for $3.29 and drill some holes in...... this is what i came up with...

    coil cover fix?

    has anyone tried using silicone around the coil cover to keep sand dirt and water out, so it dont have to be removed all the time to clean it. if you have done this i would like to hear some feed back ... thanks in advance

    cable length ?

    what is the purpose for the longer cable on the search coils? im gonna be ordering my csc and it asked short or long cable i wasnt sure if there was a special purpose for the longer cable or not thanks in advance

    does the compadre perform better or worse when you change the coil? i was planning on getting a clean sweap coil to use with it.. dont know if it makes a difference but i have the 7' coil currently

    i want to get the clean sweep coil so i can use with these 3 detectors i have a cortes - conquistador and compadre thats being modded so i can switch the coils.... my question is anyone using any of these detectors with a clean-sweep coil, and what do you like and or dislike about this combo...

    i was looking at getting a new/used clean sweep coil for my cortes, but i didnt know if it is considered a umax model or not i thought i was told a while back it was but i dont see umax stamped on the detector anywhere and want to make sure before i go and order anything thanks in advance
