Our club made the newspaper today!

Click on: http://www.dailynews.com/breakingnews/ci_11172708 There is a misquote by one owner: we did NOT find "27 pounds of GOLD coins"... it was Statehood quarters, and I am tumbling them for her. Some of them are welded together, and some have bubbles in the surface. We did find three or...

Despite all the publicity, So Calif storms were somewhat over-rated.

Saturday was a fair detecting day, though. I got $15., and my brother-in-law got just over $6, a gold wedding band, and his picture in the paper: http://www.latimes.com/search/lat-weather3_ju71ionc20080105152837,0,583937.photo

Beautiful Day in So Calif = 18k plus ICE!

Breezy, warm day here, plus low tide = 18k (12.4 grams), plus five diamonds! It's been a real slow winter - no storms to chew things up for us. Now, every little rain we have results in some sand movement.

    Waikiki Beach Hunting

This article tells about "German George" a real pain toward tourists. He thinks he owns the beach, but he hunts barefoot, and was practically asking for this. It's not just the water that is full of bacteria right now. My friends and I all wear wetsuit booties, in or out of the water...

    Calif Beach Hunting

[attachment 15786 jan06bracelet01.jpg]In spite of a few days of high surf, no one is finding gold in any quantity. Silver jewelry and silver coins are showing up. I was lucky to stumble across this bracelet at a minus tide line. It's marked 14k, and weighs 28 grams.
