I Made A Young Ladys Day Today

I received a phone call from a distraught lady this morning with a story of loosing her diamond engagement ring in her yard. After receiving directions to her house I proceeded that way. The yard was about 100' by 150'. She informed me that the ring was platinum with a single stone. I...

    Headphone Power Level

I was tinkering with the V today and reading in the manual when I noticed that having too high power level for the headphones would affect battery life. I checked my power level and found it was set at 5, I decided to try a power level of 2. As I was scanning in my test garden I noticed...

When I read the owners manual I...

    Selecting Ground Filters

I recently posted that I had determined that I got better depth in my soil with the 5 HZ Band Pass filter, this was in dry hard ground reading -90 VDI on ground probe. This afternoon I was testing the filters again after we had a good rain last night and found that I got the best depth with...

    Using Track Lock

I was hunting a trashy area in a local park and was getting a hit or two with every sweep of the coil, sometimes several hits per sweep. I decided to lock the tracking feature just to see if it would quiet things down. I figured locking the track would eliminate one of the gymnastics the V was...

    Ground Filters

I have been experimenting with different filter settings on my V I have found that in my ground, which reads -90 average that the 5 Band filter works the best it gives much better depth than the factory pre-set filter of 10 Hifgh. The manual states that a slow sweep is required for the 5 Band...

The 4x6 In A Trashy Park

I hunted a park near my home today that dates back to the 30s, lots of junk but the V-tuned 4x6 sniffed out a 1917 mercury dime. The dime was around 4' deep and gave a solid +75 reading from only one direction. I had hunted that same location before with my DFX and the 5.3" concentric coil and...
