The Minelab Musketeer Advantage has been discontinued.

Excuse me if this is old news but I just learned of it. I assume that some dealers will have stock until they sell out. If you were thinking of buying a new one, you had best buy it quick.

Is this a round ball for a Civil War era, .44 caliber percussion revolver?

I've not seen one with grooves like this. It measures .447 to .463 inches. [attachment 65249 Copyofroundball1.jpg] [attachment 65250 Copyofroundball2.jpg] [attachment 65251 Copyofroundball3.jpg]

    A comment about sweep speed.

The X-Terra 70 seems to not have a required sweep speed for best performance. Whether I sweep slow, moderate or fast, I have not noticed any lack of depth. I haven't seen many comments made about this but, it's something I can appreciate. I felt I was going to swing my arm off with an XLT.

A tip for a more comfortable arm strap.

My XLT's arm strap has a rough surface, a manufacturing defect apparently, which irritated my arm. I bought a headband and cut it to length. I attached the strap's looped end only to the arm cuff, I worked the headband onto the hooked end, then attached the hooked end to the cuff. The soft...

    My best find !

I was metal detecting Saturday and eyed my first-ever arrowhead. A plow had brought it to the surface. After some research, I found that it's a Palmer crystal quartz spear head which was used with an atlatl (or throwing stick), from the early archaic period. Made by a native American in South...

    Last Years Relic Finds

I did a lot of working and very little detecting last year. The mandatory overtime has finally come to an end though. Before I go detecting tomorrow for the first time this year, I would like to post my better relic finds of 2006. All finds were made in South Carolina with the Minelab X-terra...

What is the sweep speed of the ID Edge?

Two seconds per sweep or three seconds per sweep? I don't believe the online manual specifies this.

Three Questions about the X-70's Target ID Stabilizer (Digger's comments welcome)

Digger's X-Terra Tips for the Coin-$hooter post (2-14-06) describes how the X-50's target ID will usually not vary more than two notches on a U.S. coin. 1. Is the Target ID Stabilizer similar to the Average function of the White's XLT? 2. With the target ID stabilizer OFF, I assume the X-70...

    X-70's adjustable threshold

Does the X-70's adjustable threshold provide any depth advantage over the X-50?

Could any X-Terra 70's have the rare problem which...

Could any X-Terra 70's have the rare problem which a few 30's and 50's have been reported on this forum to have, in which the detector will suddenly turn off or on, without imput from the operator, possibly due to a static discharge? If Minelab acknowledged this to be a problem in need of...
