has anyone tried wireless headphones on their xterra?

there seems to be alot of wireless phones out there with alot of pro's and con's. I would like to get something for the hot weather coming up here and get away from the full earcups on the regular wired headphones. Would appreciate any input or opinions on this.

xterra auto noise cancel, I have a question

I was on a beach recently in florida and went thru the normal startup precedures with my xterra 70. All metal, I went to noise cancel and hit auto. The circle went all the way around and showed zero on the meter when done and beeped. I then ground balanced in auto and turned track on and...

xterra 70 at the beach, why use beach mode?

ok the way I understand it if you put it in all metal, sensitivity as high as you can and put on auto track. Wouldnt that set the ground balance automatically to the beach sand , wet or dry? not for sure how to even put a 70 in beach mode. I dont seem to have any problems with falsing or finding...

can you rejuvenate the buttons on the xterra

I have had a xterra 50 and now a xterra 70 and the buttons seem to go flat , especially the menue button where all the adjustments are made from. I sent the xterra 50 in and minelab sent me a new control head . Is the explorer and etrac equipped with the same type touch pad? I am very gentle...

dissapointed in florida beachs two days in a row

I went to pensacola beach yesterday and to navares beach today and absolutely nothing. Not a pulltab, tinfoil corroded penny. I figured between the oil cleanup crews and the sand rakes they must have got it all. Looks like new sand on all the beachs in this area. This is spring break weekend...

    which detector to choose

Its that time again. I have a whites xlt and a exterra 70 and I would like something new to add to my collection of toys. I like all the reviews on the garrett at pro and I like the xterra 705. They both seem to do about the same thing. Any xterra users that have tried the at pro, I would...

    xterra 70 and cold weather

went to a local park today, temp was 41 degrees and the menue button on my xterra was like in slow motion when I tried setting it up to hunt. Several times it would not show the menue at all and then after repeated pressing it finally showed the volume control but would not proceed on to the...

straight shaft versus S shaft on the exterra

Has anyone converted the factory S shaft over to a straight shaft and can give me a un-biased opinion on it? The reason I am curious is because of the 10 1/2 in dd coil I have. That coil seems to thro the balance off because of the way the lugs are not centered on the coil. It does feel nose...

    rockaway beach in nyc

I am visiting my son in queens ny and went out to rockaway beach yesterday. I took my xterra 70, hf oval coil and had no problem going from dry to wet sand. I found some loose change and a matchbox car, which I gave to a little girl digging in the sand. I used the beach ground balance, auto...
