I had a bad coil after all.

I bought my F75 new last April and never did get the performance and depth that so many of you had been writing about. I was doing everything right, but still the deepest coin that I found was only about three inches deep. I have well over a hundred hours on it and have hunted in some old...

What does the " + " symbol in the display mean?

Occasionally I'll get a plus symbol " + " without any numbers, as a target identification on my display. Have any of you had that reading also and what does it mean? I only hunt in the discrimination mode, with the discrimination usually set at 6. Thanks, John

I won't be wrapping my F75 around a tree after all.

In an earlier post I had written that I thought that I might have had a bad F75. It looks like it was just the dip stick trying to use it. Thanks for your messages and suggestions. I'm a newbie to metal detecting. My F75 was going a little crazy before, but I think it just must have been how...

I just got my new F75. I think I might have got a bad one. HELP! (long)

I have read the manual cover to cover two times and the parts about ground balancing, sensitivity, tones and settings another two times. I have also been reading your posts with great interest for the last two months. I am new to metal detecting, but between the manual and all of your posts I...

    ANTIQUITY LAWS?

I'm new to this hobby and have my new detector on the way. I have heard something about antiquity laws. Something about not digging for and keeping relics, artifacts and coins older than, is it fifty or a hundred years old? I also read somewhere where that was updated and now it is anything...

How does your Teknetics T-2 match up against the Minelab X-terra 70?

Have any of you had much experience with the Minelab X-terra 70? How does it perform compared to the T-2 as far as depth, sensitivity and ease of use. The T-2 probably has a lot faster processor. I know that with the X-terra 70 you can change between three frequencies by adding the different...

I'm having a hard time deciding between the new F75 and the Explorer SE.

I'm new to this hobby. I've seen people out using metal detectors in parks and at the beach and I always thought that that looks like a lot of fun. I am so glad that I found this forum. There has been a lot of helpful information that you guys have been sharing. I will probably be looking...

What's wrong with Fisher's marketing department? There is no mention of the F75 anywhere on their website.

I just checked again this morning to see if the F75 was finally added to Fisher Lab's website. There is no mention of it period. You would think that a company that has a fanastic new detector coming out (and that is starting to be shipped out) would want people to know about it. Those of us...

QUATTRO MP battery life with AA and NiMH?

The Quattro is one of the detectors that I'm considering buying. What is the battery life with both types of batteries. I have heard that you have to go at a slower than normal pace with the Quattro. Is it not a fast detector? Has anyone had any problems with the push buttons on the control...

F75 battery life, 30 or 40 hours on 4 AA? I keep seeing both listed.

Half of the information I read on the F75 says that it gets over 40 hours on 4 AA bateries. The other half says 30. The Fisher F75 brochure says 40, but the spec sheet that Bill just listed on the forum today said 30. Either way it's darn good.
