decided to hunt an open field on a lark that I figured had been bull dozed but wanted to see if "it was anything or not". Found a Kentucky rifle bar pin marked "sterling" on the back. Met Two Minelab Hunters from OR and Found a 1900 IH! :)

well I met two great guys (Chris and Tom) who flew in from Portland, OR to hunt the east coast with their Minelabs. They both are members of the gold coin club and very dedicated hunters. They are traveling up to NY from PA (possibly beyond North) and looking for people who wouldn't mind...

    1865 IH! 141 year old coin! :)

well found a 1865 Indian Head on the bank barn hill. It's been soaking since Monday night. This is the oldest coin I've found there with a readable date. The LC's were all toast so far. We're getting the Tropical storm for next 2-3 days - so next chance to hunt will probably be Monday. Rain...

LC, Indian head, and some wierd stuff after long layoff!

well I finally got out MD'ing after long layoff. The field that I was excited about had grown back to 10-12" growth of grass and assorted weeds. I decided to hunt it anyway and concentrate on areas of lower areas of the field that was used from 1800 onward. It was not easy but my first good...

well if you're really bored and have nothing else to read... here's what happened to me since my last find post in here. First I was hit with an oddball virus that took me out for three weeks. Then I fractured some ribs - waited a long while before attempting anything strenuous and before I knew...

    Compass Electronics - RIP???

happened to pop in here earlier and saw a post by someone asking for Compass URL. Well since then we've lost everything going back to July 8th - so the post is gone. Bottom line to whoever asked - it looks like Compass went out of business. Their site URL has either been hi-jacked or is being...

I saw the silver edge and thought - oh yeah! There is silver at this site. Needless to say I was very happy when I saw it was a...
