    Sea Hunter Mark II

    I recently purchased a new Sea Hunter. I can't keep a steady threashhold tone even in air tests. It always wavers slightly and will null out. Is this normal or do I need to return it to be checked out. It finds items in both salt and fresh water just fine.

    What to get next.

    I've been using the ACE 250 for about 18 months now and it does a great job. Now I need a good machine for the ocean. I can't make up my mind over the Sea Hunter or the Infinum. Most of my hunting will be on the beach or wading, but I do have a PADI card and would want the option to use it...

    ACE 250

    Thanks to those of you who suggested wearing the factory headphones around your neck. I was hunting under the bleachers at a football field today and did not want to advertise my presence. Wearing them around the neck was perfect.

    OOPS!!

    A few days ago I stated that I used the Nickle notch with 1 below and 2 above when hunting for gold.. That was incorrect, I use the Nickle notch and 3 above when I am hunting for gold.

    GOLD

    I started using a new technique on the areas I hunt. For the final pass I only use the nickle notch, one below and two above. I am basically just looking for gold. Paid off the first timeout. 10kt 1971 class ring. There is a name on the inside so it will be easier to find the owner.

    Dog Tags

    I came across a website for collectors of dog license. It's www.doglicense.org. I have found several as well as rabies tags as far back as the 40's. Might be able to morph them into gold as well.

    Day 2 with ACE 250

    I hunted about 20% of a small yard from a house built in the 30's for about an hour this afternoon. Total finds 3 memorial cents 6 wheat cents 40's and 50's 1 1907 Indian Head cent 1947 silver Roosevelt dime 1935 and 1942 Mercury dimes Not bad for day 2, I think it's a keeper.

    Ace 250

    I have about decided to purchase the Ace 250 to replace my aged ADS II. I use both the 7" and 12" coils with it. How is the additional depth with the larger coil on the Ace 250. Any trouble with discrimination due to multiple targets under loop, etc.
