I'm trying to get into prospecting and need your opinion...

Like I said, I've always wanted to start prospecting, I wanted a Minelab SD2200V2, but my watch bug kicked in and used to money for a watch , anyways, I'm looking for a nice VLF machine so I'm really undecided on what to get, I'd like to stick to Minelab but I've heard good things about...

Buying a rechargeable battery pack from Minelab? READ FIRST!!! :minelab:

Ok, I have seen people buying the rechargeable packs from Minelab at ridiculous prices, a 1500MaH pack for $70?! 1800 MaH for $100!?!?!?! No, just NO! It's RIDICULOUS! Here's my solution and probably the one that lots of people do, you can buy any normal alkaline battery pack from Minelab for...

Explorer SE coils on the Explorer II... will they fit?

I finally found a 8" coil for the Explorer, however it's for the Explorer SE, just wondering if the coil will work on the Explorer II .

I'm thinking of Selling my Explorer II...

...to get the new SE, I just have three questions: 1.) Will the Sunray X-1 from my Exp.II work on the SE? 2.) How much money should I ask for my Explorer? It's in almost new condition with no marks of any kind and in its original box with the UR-30 Headphones which are intact, new Minelab...

Got Permission to hunt Riverside Adult School!

Built in 1875 and served as a normal school until the early 1970's and then reopened in the late 1970's! I asked the Principal and he gave me the ok, and apparently 50 other TH'ers have wanted to hunt the school in the last few years he told me, but got denied (:poke:), so it hasn't been hunted...

    Sensitivity at 32 pointer.

If you're running sensitivity at 30-32 targets from 1"-3" deep will sound like surface targets, they will give a very consistent loud beep and it will be hard to locate unless you check above the turf on the grass if it's there & use the pinpoint feature, once pinpointed (appx.) if you have the...

    Finds for today.

Went out today for about 7 hours, I got the usual junk (pulltabs, deep rusted nails which sound like coins, aluminum foil, cans, etc.) and lots of clad, about $3+ which is pretty good for this site I've been pounding ever since I moved to my current house which was about a month and a half ago...

Has anyone actually found a Bust Dollar...

...while metal detecting? I've seen from Seated to Peace dollars but no bust dollars, I'm sure someone in all the years detectors have been available must've found at least one of them, anyone know if they've found at least any silver/gold bust coin from 1794-1803? :minelab::thumbup:

Minelab ESP (Extended Service Plan) I'm confused...

Does it mean I can buy one every 2 years as if it was sort of an insurance, or do you have to get it with your detector to make it valid? :minelab::thumbup:

    Interested in gold prospecting.

But I don't know where to start once I get my gold detector, I live in the Riverside, CA 92503 area and the only area I can assume contains gold are the Chino Hills nearby, but I really don't know, this is where I need your help guys, can anyone tell me where could gold be or has been found near...

Has anyone used the Sunray X-12?

Can anyone give me feedback on the X-12? It seems to be a great coil and may be my next coil after I get the X-8 (I'm planning of getting a coil & accessory collection on the Exp.2 along with tools to be prepared for ANY occassion), thanks. :minelab::thumbup:

    Making your own coil covers.

Is there a cheap, effective way to make your own coil cover that anyone knows of (like making a plaster mold and then making a cover out of it)? I want to make one for my 5" EXcelerator. Or maybe a chemical that creates a removable, thin, durable, scratch resistant cover?

    Rock Tumblers.

I need a rock tumbler, a cheap one that will get the job of cleaning dirty/crusty clad, any links, info, recommendations? Thanks!

Well I just moved to Riverside, CA to live about a week ago, all was OK until... I left my Explorer at my house... it's about 1 1/2 hours to the airport, talk about bad luck, so, I have to wait until approximately the 25th December to get it since a friend of ours is comming to CA, it could be...

    Dilemma.

I'm having some doubts, on the 3rd November I'm going to the US to live, but where do I put my digging tools? These include trowels and a Lesche digger and I'll probably be taking a bayonet. What do you think I should do? I was thinking on just sticking them on my luggage.
