    What are your thoughts on having a DD coil as stock

    Here in the Santa Cruz mountains of California, most of my hunting areas are highly minerialized...making a DD coil almost a "must" if one wants any depth at all. I've found the 6x10DD (with the V) to be a much nicer coil to use on the V than the stock 10D2.

    Wireless Vs. the Grey Ghost.. my observation

    I was looking forward to using the wireless headphones. I have sensitive ears and the wireless headset seems not quite deep enough to cover my ears without pressing on too hard in the center of my ears. I simply pulled my KB II's (with leather cups) off my MXT and haven't looked back...

    I hate the feel of the wireless headphones...the cups are not deep enough. I swear by my Killer B II Ultimas (with leather cups).

    IMHO the 6x10DD is far superior to the 10D2 on either my MXT or my Vision. I'm using the 6x10 (with "V" serial number) on the Vision with a correlate program developed by Cybersage (member here). The results are clearly better than the 10D2 in the same environment and with the same program...

    The V3 is a battery eating machine!!!

    I can't run my wireless headphones either because they're uncomfortable. I leave my backlight on its highest setting and use KB II's...The NiMH pack lasts about eight hours of hunting time. No problems.

I live in a very highly mineralized area, yet will hunt the MXT in as high a gain setting as I can stabilize and stand...it takes practice.     As I understand it, the wireless is Bluetooth. However, White's developed proprietary firmware that operates without the delays, etc. Got this from a good source.

    10D2 Issues???

    I can't say that I'm particularly fond of the 10D2 coil on the V. I slipped on my 12" last week and got a much more stable machine. Just for kicks, I took my Excelerator 10DD coil off my MXT yesterday evening and tried it on the V. Much more stable than the 10D2. Is it just me?

    I'm anxious to hear further answers to this question, as I could have written it myself. I have analyze issues similar when trying to use the Deep Silver program. Also, my Spectragraph acts exactly like jer4004's. Now, I'm a reformed MXT guy and may not fully understand the graph's function...

    Vision Locked Up Today:confused:

    Battery about 3/4 charge when the V locked up in the Spectragraph screen with a VDI -93 showing. Pulling/pushing the trigger didn't help and none of the keys worked...including on/off. Removed/re-installed the battery and it was "good to go". Anyone else had this problem?

    Canadian coins

    I haven't "tested" it on Canadian coins, but dug my first (and only) Canadian dollar coin last week (3rd hunt with the V). It registered +94...loud and clear.

    Menu "Map"???

    I just started really trying to tinker with my settings beyond the "factory settings" in the expert menu. I quickly realized that navigation would be SO much easier with a memory map...kinda like a site map on a website. Is there such a creature?

    Anyone doing good using Mixed Mode Pro?

    I think those who are used to the DFX's mixed mode will adapt pretty quickly to the V's mixed mode pro. As a MXT guy at heart though, I find it a bit uncomfortable. I can't really see any depth differences between MMP and C/J. Time will tell.
