    Had a little chuckle when this popped out tonight. Found the "lo" from Carlo about 15 feet away. And a few other highlights from the past few days. The ground is freezing, but no season-ending snow yet.

    The "0" VDI

    I've heard folks say that they dig 0-VDI signals because they may be gold. I'd have to say that 100% of the "goose eggs" that I've dug up have all been foil. I'm curious how many of you have found gold on 0 & 3 VDIs.

    Oops!!

    My MXT slipped out of my grasp today. It didn't hit hard, but I picked it up and noticed that the display had bent forward and wires were exposed. I bent it back in place and pressed on. It seems there's a metal support under there that bent back in place nicely. It seems to run okay...

    Sunray DX-1 users

    Just mounted my DX-1 tonight and will try it out tomorrow. What the heck do you do with the probe cord to keep it from flopping around and beating you to death during a sweep? I don't want to wrap it around the stick because that would slow my recovery and post-recovery process.

    Audio Control

    Has anyone ever tried to hook a variable resistor (rheostat) to the audio output of the MXT to give it a makeshift volume-only control? I've been wondering this for months and think it would be a very easy mod to do.
