Newer coins dissolving in the ground

Have for years. I am in Central Arkansas and there is a nearby papermill. Lot of acidic contamination in our state from such mills. I think that is the problem.

Minelab Equinox vdi numbers on Gold

Any of the lower readings from 4 to 20 can be gold. My suggestion is try this. I have great results using this method. I have over 100 gold rings 10k to 18k and one gold 24k bar. If a low number is consistant, not jumping numbers, it is usually gold. Works for me.

    Need some help Buddies

My dream was to become a geologist or paleontologist, but a few things got in the way. I can still identify most minerals and fossils, from memory. Now my passion is hunting rings. I have over 100 nice gold rings and over 150 silver rings. I have sold on 2 occasions over an ounce of gold scrap...

    What would you do?

I found that boiling in vinegar removes a lot of corrosion. It cleaned a 1737 1/2 Reale that I found in Bonaire a couple years ago. It was completely coated with sand but cleaned pretty good.

    The Legend is on fire!

Detecting has changed over the years for a lot of reasons, one that I believe was a negative impact was the televised reality shows that show hunters with questionable skills promoting our hobby. They made it look like all a person had to do was buy a detector and immediately find a $20.00 gold...

    The Legend is on fire!

The Legend will, like most detectors find rings. I know personally. They coil has to pass over it to find it.

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

ML's main interest isnt even in metal detectors. Their main concern and income is from defense deals with the military. Metal detectors are mostly a sideline.

NOKTA MAKRO (LEGEND) GETTING SUED - PATENT INFRINGEMENT

Agree. If it is my understanding ML either lost or dropped their patents for "multi frequency" technology. If so, how can you "sue" over infringements? If someone finds a $20 bill on the sidewalk and picks it up, did he steal it? I have been a loyal ML owner for years. They invented and...

Do any of you all own both a legend and equinox?

I have 2 Nox 800's and a legend. I bought the legend to compare how another company would incorporate the multi frequency system into their machine. I have compared both machines while beach hunting and both are consistent winners. The last outing was in Aruba where I've had excellent results...

    Bad Dealers

Its sad when a company or individual grows to the extent, they no longer feel they owe anything to the buyer. I have two sellers that I constantly purchase from, because I would rather support them in their business than give my money to the "big guy" that may or may not support me. Give the...

    Bad Dealers

To me< if you are going to do any type business, you owe the buyer the respect you want for your business and do what ever is appropriate to fix the problem. Just good business. I have always taken the position if I sell someone something, I guarantee it to be as I say. My reputation is never...

    Legend vs Manticore

i can privately message you a dealer that does not require a payment until he ships. I am # 20 on his list, but I would rather be #2o there than having my money tied up with another dealer. He is a very reputable dealer also.

Anyone got a good beach program for the Legend

I am an avid beach hunter. Living in Arkansas that comprises fresh water swimming beaches and much anticipated Caribbean vacations. I have detected for close to 50 years, both dirt and water. I can't say I never fell into the "make a program" to fit any special need. But over the years I do like...

    Legend vs Manticore

I have used my E I have used my Equinox in fresh and a lot of salt water with (knock on wood) no leakage problems. I did however break the coil ears on one, and the Legend seems to be a lot tougher in that area. The Manticore looks like ML has addressed the coil ear problem also.

    Legend vs Manticore

I'm still good with 1 excal and 2 Equinoxs and the Legend. In a couple weeks I am fortunate enough to go to Aruba and try out the Legend and compare it to the Equinox there. Very excited.
