    What were your settings? The 950 should of been able to be cranked up super hot. I have not hunted a freshwater beach but on a salt beach the 950 smokes. Are there lighted piers or docks around?

    MXT to Spectra V3 - Anyone make this leap?

    It has been my observation that those coming from a DFX to a V have had much fewer issues than those coming from the MXT to the V. I came from the DFX and have never used a MXT but for me the transition was extremely easy.

    Per Jimmy Sierra RX Gain has little to do with the depth achieved by the V3. Tx Boost and Disc (and all metal if using mixed mode) have greater affects on depth.

    Larry V nulled coils won't improve the performance on the DFX ..... I totally agree with that statement. They are optimized for use on the V3. The won't perform less than non V nulled coils when used on the DFX either. V nulled coils work best on V3's when given a choice unless you get lucky...

    Monte, I too find the 5.3 amazing on the V (oddly I hated it on the DFX). It would not be my goto coil for large clean search areas but in trashy sites she sure is sweet! Don't own a 950 V nulled yet......
