    Ring find/return!

DH spotted a Craigslist ad in our area from a man who said he had lost a sentimental ring in his back yard and could someone help him find it with a detector. As it was only a couple miles from home, we contacted him and offered to help. He accepted. Picture a slighlty bigger 'n a postage...

    tot lotting

Finally got out yesterday for about 2hrs in a pair of tot lots. Scored $3.55 total, plus some junk jewelry, and a Hong Kong $5 coin (value $0.65 approx). First time in a while that I got out to hunt. Kids have not been cooperating on their tasks, so we don't go if they don't do their stuff.....

    Midwest vacation finds

We just returned from a 2 wk vacation in KS/MO and got in a couple days of hunting. Most notable finds were by DH--he scored 2 more firsts! 1st silver coin in the wild, and 1st titanium (a mens ring). Otherwise, we scored 4-5 wheatbacks, and I set the nickle record in a single hunt ($4.75 in...

I have a pair of working Koss UR30 headphones for sale. They work fine, and the cord is in good condition. The appearance is a bit rough--rubs & scratches etc. $25 shipped CONUS only. Paypal or USPS money order ok. I will try to post pics later.

    Getting a DeLeon!

Found a DeLeon at a price I couldn't pass up. Any tips & setting y'all care to share? I am used to my Cibola, but have been wanting a screened unit, and need some advice on what things generally read, etc. --MW

HA! Take that you costly 9v alkalines!

Yes, after verifying you CAN use a rechargeable 9v in the Cibola, I went to my favorite battery supplier and ordered a 4pack of 9v NiMh's (Tenergy 260 MaH). I had previously tried this with an OLD 9vNiMh I had, and got a very low battery beep response, even when fresh off the charger. But I...

    1 ringy-dingy, 2 ringy-dingy, 3 ringy-dingy!

Yesterday I took the kids out tot-lotting in the afternoon after finishing up school for the day. We hit a park we'd never been to before, but to be honest I wasn't expecting much other than clad. Well after getting off to a good start with a clad Kennedy half, I was busily pulling quarters...

    Cibola scores more sterling!

Ya know, I've been considering upgrading my Cibola to a Tejon, or DeLeon, or maybe if I got lucky, a Cortes...but I think I must've scared the poor machine! I've scored 2 nice pieces of silver jewelry this week alone! Earlier this week before I got sick enough to see the doc, I found a sweet...

    Cibola scores sterling!

Was out hunting a tot lot this evening with my Cibola and stock coil when I got a nice ping at the edge of a play-bridge. Dug it and out popped a sweet ring with 3 nicely set clear stones! My first thought was OH MY! It's a real one! There was too much debris on/in the setting to see any...

    Which extra coil for Cibola?

Which extra coil would you get for a Cibola? I currently hunt mostly urban parks & tot lots, but hope in a couple years to be living more rural and in older areas. I have the stock 9x8 coil. I am thinking of the 5.75 concentric, or the Clean Sweep possibly. Recommendations> TIA, MW

Looking for useful tips for the Xterra 305

DH got an Xterra 305 recently, and so we are still learning the machine and using the 2 stock programs in NTX, mostly in tot lots and a couple older parks. I'm just looking for tips to speed up the learning curve. We are finding fairly comparable items (I use a Tesoro Cibola) and amounts. So...
