Cors Scout and Patriot is a winner!

Planted a 11.5" merc. Stock coil not able to pick it up. The Cors Scout was able to pull it out. Its also a much quieter coil. Less chatter in SE. My prelimimary opinion is that its a definate winner with an inch, give or take, over the stock coil. A little heavier but i dont mind. Very solidly...

    Big old spike

Found this today with the AT Gold. Id'd hard iron at 12" hoping to find these concentrated somewhere but for now this was the only one. Anyone got a ballpark date on this? It looks like a mini RR spike.

    Kudos to Garrett AT Gold

Well I felt I had to say something about this. I was very reluctent to buy a Garrett AT but after some research I did it anyway because of the good reviews and because I watch Bill Ladd clean up old celler holes with one. I got the AT Gold. All I can say guys is holy crap what an awesome...

found this 1902 indian penny w vx3 in coin jewelry mode 7" down.

I hear you on the mosquitos...filthy bastards... Since you were asking about the comparison to my other detectors I put up a quick video on this forum. I plan on getting an SEF coil here in the near future and will do a video when I do. It may be awhile since I'm selling my GM3 on ebay so I can...

found this 1902 indian penny w vx3 in coin jewelry mode 7" down.

Vx3 air tests a bit deeper. But real world depth is about the same. This detector isn't even in the same category so I can't really compare them side by side the VX3 has many more bells etc.

    Hi-pro program

I also have a VX3 and really like the Hi-Pro program. I like how it accepts a wide range of targets and I can then choose if I want to dig. It also air tests very well and is very deep in actual soil. Don't forget to ground balance..

    Found a wheat penny cache

Well my buddy Chris and I found a wheat penny cache but the pennies are all corroded. I have them in a tumbler now with some dish detergent. Any advice on how to get the green crusties off? There seems to be about 100 or so pennies. The thrill was cool though!

    VX3 Lessons learned

well I took the VX3 to the beach today and I'm very impressed. I was pulling up very very deep coins and compared target readings to my Fisher before I dug and it couldn't even pick up some of the targets that the VX3 was slamming loudly on. Also I was picking up very tiny bits of aluminum so...

    Help with VDI

Well since rings vary so much I was suggesting that reading the VDI number that the ring produces and then accepting those numbers would allow him to get it to hit. On my VX3 the detector was rejecting my penny so I saw what VDI it was I went in the disc menu and saw it was not accepted. I...

    Help with VDI

Check your vdi disc settings. You will have to accept the value your ring is showing (-5-+10) it seems some of the presets werent set up to accept all the proper targets. Mine was rejecting pennies.

    VX3 Lessons learned

Just got the new VX3 and thought I would share a few lessons learned that may help a new user. When doing air tests in coin mode I found that a newer penny was being disc'd out so I had to go into the VDI menu and edit to accept the value that my penny was giving. -Make sure you air test...

    New White's advice

So, I want to buy a new or newer White's model. I am thinking of selling one or two of my older Fisher's. I use to own a Spectrum XLT. I sold it...biggest mistake ever. What, if any, newer White's model/models comes close to the Spectrum? Maybe I should just buy an old spectrum. I see they...

    CZ-7 12AA's to 2 9v Conversion

Just converted my CZ-7 to 2, 9 volt batteries instead of 12, 1.5v AA's. Does anyone see a problem with this? I get the same depth and it's been on for 4 hours and still has full battery strength. One hell of a lot cheaper I can tell you... but I'm worried about any side effects that I haven't...

CoinStrike, not your average garden variety test!

While sitting here in Kabul, Afghanistan with my new C$ i purchased off ebay, I decided to do a garden variety test...penny, nickel, dime, quarter. First I need to describe the soil here. Lets put it this way, when using my digging tool to recover targets, the neodymium magnet on top gets...
