    Spent a few hours hitting the construction site. Lots of old brass bits and junk. One cool find was this neat looking button. It has a snake in the middle and the texture looks like reptile scales.

    Turns out it was the 10" DD coil going bad. I sent the whole detector in to whites and they replaced the coil and checked it over (even out of warranty!). What a great company! A+

    If I just want to look for gold jewelry can I just reject everything except for -10 to +30 and then digging everything? Wouldn't that get me most gold items? What else can I adjust so I can get "most" jewelry? What about searching in a higher frequency (22.5khz) with a different coil ?

    I bought a used VX3 as a spare detector. The coil it came with is marked DX. Is that a "V rated" coil? Did I get the wrong coil?
