    Frustrated!!! :rage:

Ok, I'm sure that I'm not the first to come across this little problem, but how do you get that dang coil unscrewed from the control box?!?!?! I only hand tighten it, but when trying to change coils, when I try to unscrew it, you would think I had tightened it on there using impact wrenches...

Friend buying machine. Ace 350 vs. Fisher F2

Hi guys, I don't know much about the Garrett Ace series, but the 350 is their biggest in that series, but is it really any better than the F2? This friend of mind is new, and this will be her first detector, so she wants simple but effective. To me, that just sounds like the F2. My F5 is...

    Fisher 1280x......Looking for direction

I sure hope I get better results here than I did on the Fisher Classic forum! Everybody in that forum READS posts, but nobody responds. Lesson learned. Normally I'm hanging out in the Fisher F Series forum, so maybe I got spoiled; those guys all respond well in there. Anyway, I'm hoping some...

Maiden Voyage - 1280x (rookie here) :wiggle:

Hi everyone! I will be going out for my first time EVER water detecting. (Fisher 1280x) I'm looking for any tips/tricks/suggestions...anything! I feel bad for posting this, as I know that there are probably a million articles on the forums, but I'm looking for a quick fix; I'll read those...

    Recent hunts #1

Because I've been lazy about posting my pics, you get to see a month's worth all at once, or at least per posting. :sadwalk: Here goes. This is mostly from an old turkey farm that I was allowed to hunt. 1) Sterling silver knife handle, the kind that is filled with "something", and falls apart...

    Cataloging software question

Sorry, probably the wrong forum for this question, but this is where all my friends on here hang out, so I'll take a chance! LOL I would like to catalog my finds, but I don't know where to find software for this. Are there any free software programs out there, or even paid programs for doing...

    F5 hitting silver for me!

I'll try and make this short. I volunteer for the Jefferson County humane society here, and we were doing a fund raiser this past Saturday and the humane society director was there. Well, the humane society owns the property of the current location, plus an adjacent homestead next...

Bought my second detector already! F2 for the wife!

After all the good words about the F2, I pulled the trigger on it today! I figured it would be a good way to get the wife out with me, and double our finds! Plus it came with the three coils, and I can't wait to steal that sniper coil for the F5 and hit the trashy areas in the parks! And the...

First Silver Ring, and is she a BEAUTY

Ok, I lied about how pretty the ring was, but any time you see Sterling on the inside of the band, she's a beauty!!!! Searched the yard on Saturday, and hit the school parking lot edge (barely touched it, ran out of daylight) Sunday afternoon. All the coins, and my FIRST SILVER RING, came...

Sunday's finds, plus some items from my first Silver Day!

I did post this Barber dime already, but I sharpened the pictures of it so that you could see the great detail in this 104 coin. From a lot of the Barbers that I've seen, this one seems to still have a lot of detail that I don't see in other coins. (what do you guys think, am I just being a...

    AT Pro or AT Gold???

Hi there! I just recently bought a Fisher F5 and now am contemplating buying a good water detector, but also something that can be used on land (for the wife when she goes...IF she goes) Anyway, the only input that I've had on either unit is that the AT Pro is not a good machine for finding...

My first silver ever....yeah, EVER!!!! :beers:

Went out to the 2nd oldest county park in Wisconsin today, and had a great time! My buddy, Russ Balbirona, found two silver Mercury dimes today, and a 1944 silver quarter, along with several wheat pennies. He was only out for two hours, but park was beautiful, so I spent the rest of the day. I...

    Pony's third day hunting. :detecting:

Knocked a ton of the "First Timer's List". 1) First Matchbox - Rolls Royce, and thing thing even had metal seats in it! 2) First Ring - kid's ring, but the gold roudness had my heart pounding in my chest! BUT, it's a ring! 3) First Wheat Penny - 1957 4) First spill ever - found 9 coins in...

WTB...Second use for wife/friends to use

Not looking to break the bank here, but would like to get my wife hooked so that we could spend some time together NOT talking. A good, used machine, left over from somebody's recent upgrade, would be perfect. Not looking for a budget buster, just something that will find stuff...

    Sorry for posting finds here!

I just realized that I should probably be posting my finds on the Today's Finds Forum, and not here. I'll make sure to post finds in the correct forum from now on. Nope, nobody complained, but I thought I would straighten it out before an admin bopped me over the head. LOL HH, Jake

FINALLY! The F5 has hit the ground runnin'!

Finally got out and played with the new F5! Nothing great, but was fun to start the learning curve! Couple of coins and waterline key. Hunted a trashy sledding hill. TONS of beer cans buried in the soil, so must have been fill that was brought in from somewhere. Anyway, got the first hunt...
