    Brand new to metal detecting

    I have usually just hiked and visited old and/or historic sites. But, I was recently given a new Famous Trails MD 7030. My husband and I studied the directions and we followed them to a T, but we can't get it to work. If I trow coins down on the ground I can't get a reading even when I am right...
