    Anyone still swinging an Impact? Are you thinking of an upgrade?

    I try to run gain as high as possible,although machine is chatty but when the detector finds target it LOCKS ON! you will know the difference I eliminate a lot of iffy targets by changing freq from 14 hrtz to 5 hrtz.Stick with it,it's an awesome machine

    Pinpointer question

    Being a pulse it's deeper than a vlf probe.I run both on lowest sensitivity because at max they'll sound off when I stick it in the hole.I've never used it gold hunting but I think either would be good,especially probing cracks in bedrock etc (build quality on both are excellent)

    Another new entry into the multi-frequency ring...

    I use quest xpro pinpointer (excellent probe,waterproof to 200ft,menu is easy to navigate,build quality...excellent) Seems everyone writes Quest off because they're a Chinese Company.As for me I'll be looking at this machine.

    IQuest had quality issues initially but they've corrected same as far as I'm concerned and are making quality detectors and pinpointers.I use quest x pro pinpointer and it is excellent..2 years ago I bought my 11 yr old nephew a quest x5 detector for 150 bucks new.I was impressed with the build...

    As I said I've had an Impact 3 yrs.Until then my go to machine was a Safari.A guy in my club got an Impact and it blew my Safari away in club test garden Impact still has best screen going

    Got a quest x5 for my nephew.A lot of machine for the price. x10 has even more optionsThis Chinese co.seems to make a good product.Their q series has the best shaft configuration on the market (going to have to check out new x10 at 13khz as a backup)

    Inexpensive Sov hip mount

    needed hipmount,bought army surplus canteen holder on ebay $5.00. Cut hole in bottom for cable.Box fits very snuggly,comes with belt clips...can't beat it.
