    Well. I finally did it!!!

Equinox 800, all metal mode, FE on 6, max sensitivity. The signal was huge and steady. Like swinging over a beer can. It was about 5 or 6 inches deep.

was about 6 inches deep and 3 feet from a road that was a major east west road and trading posts back in the 1800's. It was also known as the Honey Moon trail because newly Weds would take it to Niagara Falls by carriage.

    Well. I finally did it!!!

People come up to me and ask me what I've found over the years. My usual response is: "Well, I haven't found a gold coin or a silver dollar." Well, as of yesterday, I can cut that statement in half. I found an 1880 silver dollar. After 20 years of detecting, I finally found one. My knees...

Find of the year or find of a lifetime 1809 half cent

Ok everyone. It has been determined on another forum that this is actually a V nickle and not a half cent. My coin fame has been shattered.😔

Find of the year or find of a lifetime 1809 half cent

I usually hunt with 3 other people. Two of them have 20 years each and the third has 45 years hunting. None of them has ever found a half cent. They are calling it the find of the year. Maybe the find of a lifetime. The day before I found a 1902 barber dime and a 1916 Canadian dime within 20...

    Finally, silver for July

I have found silver every month this year but no silver for July until yesterday. I got an 1896 Barber with an O mint mark, a semi key date. It's worth about 60 bucks.

    My greatest coin spill ever

We will never know why all those coins were there. I guess the kid theroy is as good as any. I am still flabbergasted by it all. This could be the spill of a life time and I've been doing this for 20 years.

    My greatest coin spill ever

The spill was in a large park on the edge of grass and woods. It is at the top of a large hill where sledding took place up to 1950. It was called Suicide Hill because it was so dangerous. I'm thinking the 1976 coin doesn't belong. It was just there.

    My greatest coin spill ever

Others have asked me this. The newest was 1976 and the oldest was 1959. There was a Canadian penny dated 1951.

    My greatest coin spill ever

Saturday I found this absolutely beautiful silver half. But on Sunday only a short distance away I came upon a massive coin spill. I was using a nox 800 and it was jumping all over the place. I thought it was can slaw but I dug it anyway. The hole produced 26 memorials, 23 Wheaties, 2...

"Ringing" in the first of May

Yeah, they are hard to find. I hunt with lots of people all with 20 or more years experience and as far as I know, none of them have found a CC coin.

"Ringing" in the first of May

It's my first CC ever. Hopefully it won't be my last.
